I am very interested to see the results of this experiment. We've been told that in-game macros are legal (except ones used to harass others).
Go for it.
Go for it.

It might make a difference in the PvP game, though, depending on how easy it is to control. It can't be any harder to kill than a normal player, and if anything, might be easier to kill since it can't react to what happens to it.
They won't be any harder than a normal PC no, marginally easier, but I can give them enough functionality that it won't be much easier. Dizzy/KD will be thier bane, but with the propper stacker template will be harder to pull off... and I got a macro in mind that the commander will be able to order them to execute to help them get back up... Also when I get my group command macro up and running you'll be able to control multiple bots, giving the average joe power squad leaders could only dream of. Anyway, need to go start on the group interface

I gave Fuschia the specifics on how the macro works... once she wakes up from her coma she should be here to warn the next person not to ask, the "believe button" is your friend

I have to agree with the others here, looking at this the only words coming to my mind are "open it". We have tried to tell people countless times what a big problem this is without them understanding it, it's time they witness it themself.

Well, given my share of the knowledge, I retract my previous concerns.
It's not *too* crazy, but then this is coming from someone who programs for his job, so maybe my perspective isn't a fair one.
My reaction was "wow, it's right there, but I never ever would have thought of it".
Anyways, it's too bad I'll be out of town this weekend, or I'd be giving my alt respondo-bot functionality over the next few days as I figured out the details. I guess I'll have to wait till I'm back

I think I stumbled on a way to make a doc bot that you can place in a public location and have it not only buff, but require payment for said buffs (the reciept of payment is what initiates the buffing sequence). A similar method could be used on ent bots to require payment as well, tho they're a bit more tricky...

You'd still have to group with the bot, it just wouldn't start buffin ya til it got its money, after that same old easy doc bot, its starting the buff on the reciept of the tip that makes it different.

The part i like the best about the combat assist bot, is you don't even have to grind up an alt to use it. What pvp guild doesn't have a rifleman or two kicking around. So when you aren't playing why not help out the guild by running the pwn bot macro on your uber rifleman?

The initial attempt at upgrading the command interface met with a bit of failure... nothing I can't work around but I want the bot to be tested a bit, deila is gonna take it hunting. I'll add the new backside to it today, which will allow it to switch between command acceptance modes, including tell, group, and system message (specifically tips). Also intend to integrate my original combat assist bot into the command bot, which will vastly increase usability. Other commands will be added as usage dictates, unfortunately it seems to be unable to accept training from player characters (without the drinky drinky bird method
) but I am confident I can have it accept training from NPC's should the need arise.

If you get the group interface working you need an army of BH to go with you. Then an entertainer can kill a few jedi and scoff at them, THAT will wake some people up. This will be a cool new toy to the combat crowd and nothing more unless you start causing some of them to die to the hands of robots. Their ego is the only place you can hurt them and dieing to a pure entertainer who controls a few robots is the only way it can happen. The problem is figuring out how to get the bots into the fray so they can attack.

Wow I can't wait to see this stuff. I love playing around with the macro system and all this talk just is really making me curious about it all.
