NewJedi, my test subject last night told me that listening to me play music buffed her focus & willpower stats. Looks like we're onto something

you DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MASTER to give this buff. It gets better with skill in the tech line.

i have every box filled except wound healing 4 , and my buff seems to give about 400ish or so the mind pool if /watched for approx. 5 mins.

Any master dancers/musicians i see and listen to will be receiving at least a 4 figure tip for these buffs. Rifleman need you, so please dont vanish when you hit master

tonight after reading this thread i went to tavern to see what the buzz is about.

like others have said before, i watched a master dancer and a master musician at the same time for 15 minutes, then i clicked stop watching on both.

my mind went from 750 to 1125 which is 50% increase. that was from the dancer.

my focus went from 400 to 600. 50% again, but from musician.

Willpower from 500 to 750. again 50%, also from the musician.

put the stopwatch to it, and 30 minutes later they all died off.

pretty sweet for us warriors who always worry about our mind stat in battle.

I cant wait for good groups in the future with all the different players banding together to make truly unbeatable forces.

well i can dream at least.

Yup. These buffs work in camps, most assuredly.

And aye, I agree, it definitely provides a very nice additional way that we can spend time, and be useful to those of the non-entertaining persuasion *grin*

I was disappointed to find that I cannot /moan.How could they forget to add in /moan? That is all.

Sadly, not enough people of your profession realise the worth of entertainers. If they did, I'd be a rich Master Dancer rather than a relatively poor one who is seriously thinking of giving upher Entertainer Skill points and using them for a profession that is held in greater regard by other players, and whichactually charges money for a service so that I can do more than merelysurvive. Besides, I'm tired of people stealing mind heals and regarding me as little more than a whore.

Well, I'm thrilled about these buffs, but I have one remaining question: do they work on someone listening toor watching someone else in the same group? I seem to be able to buff only people outside my group. Earlier in the thread, someone said it does work on group members; if so, what am I doing wrong?

I watched one of the dancers in my group today to get the mindbuff for ID. And after I stopped watching her, I got the buff so you shouldn't have a problem.

The only issues with watching or listening to someone in your group have to do with timing and whether you have enough space on your radial menu. I've had trouble as a medic/entertainer because with healing, image design, teach, etc. on the menu watch and listen just don't show up. (And I couldn't even use the /watch and /listen commands! It was odd!) The other is that you don't seem to be able to receive the dance buff while you're dancing, for example. Not sure if that's the same with music.

Are there any plans to have dancing apply the stat buff to the one that is doing the dancing?

I cannot watch myself dance, but who is more in-tuned mentally with the dance than the dancer herself (himself).

Thanks for your replies. Yep, I was able to buff a group member's Focus and Willpower today, for about 200-300 points I think, in a camp. I only played for a few minutes, so the buff didn't last long. Sure wish it lasted longer.

You don't have to be a master to confer this bonus. As a novice dancer with no skill in dance techniques I buffed mind for 50 points on a friend of mine.

As for vanishing I'm not even a master yet and have gone to the stage where I only play in my groups camps or my own cantina. I just plain got sick and tired of explaining to idiots that dancer does not = whore.
