OH MY GOD! When is the earth going to crack apart and start spouting demons. It is obviously the Apocalyps, or Ragnarok, which ever you wish to call it. The world will be ending momentarily. I hope you all enjoyed the ride. Have a nice oblivion.

I was on TC doing tumble yesterday and someone watching even said "I thought I read that dance was supposed to be broken. It looks fine to me."

That was me. I was there to check out the ID changes (I had been working off and on on an ID there for several months and last night took her to Master ID). I also have a Master Entertainer/Novice Dancer/Musician there that has started the Theater Quest (but is stuck on the 30 person audience part ). It was a pain getting enough eh xp to get her to the Novice boxes in Dancer/Musician.

With the reduced skill points for ID, I am thinking of making my Rodian ID there a quad-Master Entertainer (so she won't be chopping things with her big axe anymore if I do that).

  • Ditch the concept of an idle dance. Create a new system where dance routines are built before execution and stored to be called later. The hugest flaw in the Dancer set up is that it is treated like a casting system with out any normal effects from spells. It should actually be treated like a crafting system. Players should be able to pick which animation clips they want to use and put them in a stored order to create a set of moves or routines. This would create a need for preparation similar to crafting effort, but it would be much more satisfying in the end and would much better support the idea of "performance" as a goal.

Ooooh, I like this idea!

I like that too, except that it does cut down on some of the spontaneity of it all.

The first one would be the easiest I'd imagine, and as a side bonus, if done right it would fix the display issue as well as get rid of drift. Actually it's the only good way I can think of to fix the display issue. However, it would make synchronized dancing harder to do. It works for musicians because all their flourishes are the same length, but it wouldn't work so well for dancers I don't think.

Well with this system could "craft" dances and then we could create a "schematic" of the dance/song to be sellable. Music schematic could be loadable into a jukebox.

Dancers/Muscians could use several "schematics"at the same time placed in queue slots.

Bandflos can be replaced and allow the group leader or just anyone in the group to trigger dances in other's queue either by slot number or "schematic" name. The option to allow others to trigger what's in your queue can be turned on/off in the dance/music queue interface.

Then a macro could be run for a performance or parts of a performance

/dancequeue Isleh-lin 1;
/dancequeue Weyune 1;
/dancequeue Ekade 1;
/musicqueue Iago solo;
/musicqueue Zyre quietsong;

Higher skill in the entertainer profession lets you have more dances/songs in the queue.

OMG
Are you guys serious?????
*checks the calendar to make sure it’s not April 1st*
They actually fixed the base!?!?!?
*faints*
Well now I’m double mad about not being able to get on the TC to see/test it. For some strange reason it keeps on looping me back to Live server selection after I hit “Test” on the bottom. Go figure
Now if it could be “live” for Ikewe’s Cantina Crawl this Saturday it would be even better.
lol I know… I know… one baby step at a time….
But seriously… this is about the best news I have seen in a loooooooooong time.

TC-Eclipse still isn't up. Sigh. *sits back down*

And I had the same looping problem. Just click on the test icon in your SWG folder.

Unfortunately, I tried to reinstall the TC program because I figured that the looping problem must have been on my end . . . . now I don't even have TC on my computer. I should have just been patient and waited to read Tiaga's reply to my other post . . . does anyone have a work around to download the TC program? One that a non-tech like me can handle?
