You might be tied down 1 night a week, but otherwise you'd be free to do whatever. Entertainment District is a city specialization like medical or research center, while on duty there you could out buff the bots, stats wise, and provide a good reason for people to come to your city. And I dont think we have such a thing as the ATK channel on tempest. I think we had it for awhile but there was so much fighting and greifing on it (from both sides) it was stopped.

"You might be tied down 1 night a week, but otherwise you'd be free to do whatever"....

I just find it odd that,to get the most out of your playtime, you would suggest we sacrifice ours In a broad sense.

What if I don't want to be tied down 1 night a week? An obligation to be somewhere to provide a service has several names. "Job" and "Employment" arewhat come to mymind. How would you feel if, for some reason, your playtime that was tied down 1 night a week forsome reason and that 1 night a week was the only way to earn credits and good XP?

What if some player does not want to be in this organization that runs what you suggest?

Besides, What will prevent some players from making an Entertainment District specilized city and running a buffbot until the recursive macro goes away?

We're back to square one.

LOL that has been edited to add....
In the time that I took to write this, lots of people have already said what I said.

I know play times vary but they vary for all players in all professions. If you are on at 5 a.m. doing combat odds are really good that an entertainer is also on. The problem isn't finding them it is getting to know a few so you can find them. Yes that takes effort but the payoff is huge.

As an example myself and Imaji were on rori killing NPC last night grinding melee professions and looting. So here is a master musician and master dancer doing something outside the cantina. A friend and long time customer sees that Imaji is on planet and stops by to say hi. He is a great guy, always treats us respectably, always tips, and has become a friend. So he stops by to say hi and we respond with a hello. The next words out of both our mouths is "need a buff?". We were both immediately willing to stop our grinding for 10 minutes, run to the hotel, and buff our friend and patron. It turns out he didn't he was just saying hello but the point is we were happy to help our friend and he didn't need to ask for it. It doesn't have to take long to find an entertainer it simply takes a little time to get to know a few and show them some respect.

I strongly recommend that you develop these relationships because when buff bots go away the guilds with such ties are going to be the ones with an advantage. I've traveled to other planets to buff people, I've met DWB groups, I've performed for friends at parties, I've left the combat field and badge collecting to meet people and buff them, I've sat for hours in a cantina to socialize and buff. I've only refused two people a buff, both extremely rude and obnoxious players. The few times I've been asked for a buff when I was in the cantina but not performing I've hit friends with tells and given the person asking me the question an alternative name.

Courtesy goes a long way and adding a little respect for the service we provide and the sacrifices we make to give those services guarantees you will never have trouble. The difference in what you have to do grinding out missions on dant, or a crafter having to find resources, and what we do is fundemental. No other profession except doctor requires that their time coincide with another players time. A crafter can craft whenever they feel like it and put the results on a market. You can elect not to grind dant tonight to make a war. An entertainer and doctor, on the other hand, is expected to be available when YOU want not when they feel like it. That is the core issue that is always overlooked when you try and compare professions.

If you want us available on demand then it has to be worth our while and you can't treat us like servants or vending machines because at the base of it all we are paying customers trying to enjoy a computer game just like you. I don't log in to be abused, laughed at, taunted, spit on, or insulted. Quite simply I can do many other things and leave you all lacking for an obviously essential service.
