Well, this turned into some debate! The clique thing was just a perception that was made apparent to me by many others; and I figured not being a dancer and having to worry about forum pwnage on this board mademe the person to ask about it.For the record, you guys were really cool about it. The perception is probably because your very protective of your profession, as you have every right to be. Change happens and ideas get thrown in the mix, and Lynn is probably right. Tolerance may be lacking due to the fact that a good number of dancers dont feel heard about old yet still relevant issues.
Since the afk thing came up, here's my two cents. I dont go to afk dancers unless im on at 3am for some reason and for some reason need a mind buff. I love going to the cantina and shhoting the sh!t with whoever is in there, it makes the game fun for me; and I know there are many others that feel the same way I do, at least on Kauri. Luckily most of the bots havnt set up shop in the cantina though too. Im a believer in atk, I buff atk at a hospital, and while I dont get as much business as my afk peers, its still the most fun way for me to play doc. Well, I'm off to go find an atk dancer to buff at the hospital..../puppy dog eyes Lynn

"I know of no other board as biased and closed to comment as the Dancer Forum." - Path
BH and Jedi forums are much worse. At least the dancer are friendly and try to help out (if you don't admit to being a buffbot, or come here with the intent to flame)
I've been a dancer since about Aug '03 and read the forums frequently. Rarely do threads get highjacked and turned into infernos of hate... unless it is between the true entertainers and the combat-wombat buffbot owners.

Yes, this is what I saw. I saw people who felt hurt by her post and reacting in a predictable manner. I cannot feel that having one's feelings hurt and reacting to that hurt makes anyone a snob.

It really stung me when she made her post about the woderfulness of the jukebox. As a musician it really bothers me that the devs spent time (music time, mind you) toward an in game terminal instaed of music time toward the players that play music as a profession. As the entertainers are a small community as a whole, I, as a musician was hopeing for some community support on the issue. Instead I'm treated to how great the box is compared to me.
I think that is why you got a cold reception with your jukebox post. It's not due to any cliqueish stuff going on around here. I agree with the above folks, it's botfolk labeling us in that manner and the fact we're just bloody tired of this fight that could have us be cast in a cliqueish light.
