PS. The problem with your message of hope and happiness, Irina, is in the delivery. Your posts the last couple of days have been laced with insults and self-righteousness. There is a way to deliver a message and there's a way not to. You have mastered the art of High Horsedness. There is a way to try to get your particular issues to the forefront without insulting others. Perhaps you don't have any issues at all, in which case you can join in conversations that have nothing to do with issues. You can also interject in conversations and use phrases to get your point across without pointing the finger at other people, ERRONEOUSLY blaming them for the state of our profession, insulting them, and claiming that you know better than everyone else about what we need and how we feel. You need to realize that other people have other opinions, many of which have nothing to do with doom or gloom, but with making things better. You need to realize that just because you think entertaining is the end all and be all of our profession, that other people don't agree with you. Your shortsightedness, lack of peripheral vision, and disregard for other people's ideas and feelingsis astounding. Nobody but Nobody is going to respond to a message of hope and happiness that is laced with insults directed towards them. You can't be that incredibly stupid to not realize this. It's gotten to the point that any message that you may have is completely lost on everybody the moment you insult, blame, and accuse.

Oh, and also? You're wrong.

Mmmm, I do think you actually managed to turn my thinking around.. . . I entertain AND I buff. Period.

Let me ask you something, Irina. If, a year from now, there are no more afk buffbots for whatever reason...either because the devs have removed them, defined them as griefing, or made ATK buffs better, will you still have the same opinion? Do you think it's not worth ever fighting for something? Do you think, in real life and in game, just because something is the way it is that it will always stay that way? Do you think that the wookies, who were upset over not having armor, should have never fought to get it? Should have never even mentioned it? Should have done nothing? Do you think people should have never complained about the hologrind? Do you think that when the news that the combat balance was going to be delayed yet again that people shouldn't have complained if they didn't like it? Do you think the devs would have been trying to institute quick combat fixes if nobody had complained? Do you think wookies would have armor? Do you think we'd have a quest based Jedi system today? Do you think that TH would have ever posted the entertainer interaction thread in "In Concept" if nobody had ever complained?

I've only been dancing for just over a week, not because I want to dance all the time but because I want to run my own cantina in my guild to help guild m8ts and anyone that is around are city. Heal them and buff them and also make a little money out of it as well, which to me is what becoming an entertainer is all about. Healing people after running all those god dam missions, I also think if you take away the ability to buff from dancers/musicians then your taking away the only main ability they have for making money, as theres not much else an entertainer can make money from, as most people expect battle fatigue healing for free.. As with doctors and medics, people expect healing for nothing yet it cost credits to make the stims..All professions have something that makes them money, so why not entertainers? Using buffbots will take away the entertainers only real way of making money....

Perhaps a new addition to master dancers would be to create new dances from set programs that can be used to create better buffing and will add to the dancer profession, as with droid engineers or artisan and medic can create better items with better iron/minerals and so on, why can't they create something like this for the dancer? What about having the abillity to create new lighting effects by combining set peices once reaching a higher level and these can then be sold on to other dancers? Plenty could be added for dancers to make their own money as well as buffing..As with musician, they could have the ability to create their own music at master level, and the better the music the better the buffs, along with making their own instruments at master level, which again if made with decent materials would cause better buffs.

Some dances could only be performed by to master dancers as with musicians, you could add alot if people put their minds to it..

Eucy, this morning you lost an opportunity to make a loyal patron and afriend.

A former guildmate of mine asked you for a buff and you told him that was what buffbots were made for. Fortunately, not only was I in the cantina, but a few other masters wereavailable to give him a LIVE buff. He thought your tone, words and action were very "unlovely". He wasn't mad, he wasn't rude - he was, however, offended. He doesn't use buffbots. He always looks for ATK entertainers for buffs and healing.

You have every right to decide against buffing, if that is your style. However, kindly consider the delivery of your statement against buffing. You could in essence turn a potential entertainer supporter into an antagonist. And that could hurt the rest of us.

Yup. I have to admit, I was very stressed over this at my last Bria Starport Jam a couple of weeks ago... so much so that I think it may have slipped into the tone of my replies a little more than I had meant for it to.

Please, please, please, be the best Dancer you can be... whatever you decide to do or not do with your skills and title.

Kirah... Yes he ASKED and politely... the Second time... but the Tell I got the First time.. before the nice polite public request was 'Give me a buff.'

Maybe he's former guildmate. maybe he's a friend. But when I came over to the Cantina to dance with you and somoene gets in my face and says 'Give me a buff.' I am somewhat less than inclined to be friendly and generous.

And that's one of the more Polite forms that request comes in. I've had my fill of rudenes, of being called names, being insulted, being belittled and treated as if I exist for other people's pleasure.

So if someone is rude to me they can expect the same in return.

Simple as that.

Im not a sweet, nice, kind, lovey person. I'm a crotchety old lady that doesnt respond well to rudeness or being treated like some mindless bimbo. If someone's nice to me, I'm nice in return and I always start out nice.

In here, you may not agree with my opinions and thats fine.. but I dont recall calling anyone a prostitute or making personal attacks on Them as individuals becasue I disagreed with their opinions.

In very happy about he news from Thunderhheart and I guessI WILL go back to doing buffs since its going to be up to us again to fill that role. But just like in the ID tent... I'll tack on a HEFTY surcharge for rudeness and obscenity and maltreatment.

You know I've been dancing since Beta. And I DO know something about Dance in here and about buffing and about relations with customers. I ran a dance school for a long time on my other server and trained a lot of successful dancers. But I obviously dont agree sometimes with the majority opinion and in here that means I'm trolling if I express on opinion that the 'special' people dont agree with. Disagree with me if you like. Thats fine. but treat me condescension and I have better things to do.

I didnt TELL anyone that they should dance the way I do or make the decisions I make. I pointed out an alternative approach to a problem we've all been sufferring and tried to get people to look at the problem from a different perspective. Thats not welcome here.

So dont worry I wont be posting in here much if any from now on. Debate and discourse is one thing. But when Discourse descends to that level I dont have much use for it. I'd much rather be dancing. Dont like that way I dance? Fine. Dont dance with me.

Eucy, I'm going to take the mind set that half of what you said in the post above was not directed at me. I never called you a prostitute. I never told you you couldn't speak your mind here. I never said I didn't like the way you danced. I started my post politely and carefully with the intention to cause as little harm as possible.

If my former guildmate addressed you in that manner than I apologize to you. He's always been very polite to me, so I would expect him to behave the same way to other ents.

The forum here is THE place for debate and discussion. You will rarely see me get into discussions like this ingame because that is the place I want to have fun, not debate. Are you in the minority with your opinion on this matter? Yes, but don't let that keep you from adding your voice to the crowd. Different vocals make for a more interesting song.

No Kirah it Wasnt directed at you. You've never been anything but polite and pleasant to me.But After presenting an idea, an approach thatI thought might be worth considering as a fresh perspective instead of a debate on the issue itself I found my self being called names and attacked Personally. Which in debate is a tactic you use when you don't care to debate an issue on its merits. Fine.

The whole idea is moot now anyway with Thunderheart's announcement. But you have to wonder why.. in ALL this time we've been asking and pleading and begging for help that no one at SOE would even condescend to say... We're working on it. Give us some time.

No.. Instead we were Totally ignored as if we didn't exist. Regardless of the fact that they're finally fixing the problem,I find their lack of Simple courtesy or seeming complete disregard for US pretty appaling and I reserve judgement until I see the actuall implementation of it. I still find their lack of communication and forthrighness disturbing.

And to see people saying 'Oh thank you' to the devs as I did in a moment of weakness at the excitement of it... after we've been ignored totally for months on end... I find myself ashamed. That's like thanking the person who mugged you for not hitting you a 10th time.
