Yea, let dancers do thier teh sexxay dances on the battlelfield to distract all the combatants. Then, we can send in our armies of irritated robots to destroy them all and take over the world...mwuhaahaahaa!!!

Um, I can't really tell your tone here so I'm gonna take it as dead pan serious. That is not a good idea. We'd be stuck in an animation that would leave us wide open for attack. However, adding a bit of Defense V KD, Dizzy, Blind and Fire would in no way effect the proffession for those who don't want to fight and would in every way improve the proffession for those who do. I don't want dancers to be an active part of combat, per say. We're there for prep and recovery. However it would be nice if the skill points we dump into it offered some kind of return... Some benefit to a live player who might, on occasion, wish to step outside of the Cantina.

I think state def, posture change def, and dodge all make sense. I also worry that the new Dancer Migration will make us even more squishy, so we will need the balance that squishy "classes" get in most systems.

I started looking at these yesterday... maybe we can work on a proposal for Keldarin to look at when he comes back. If we can come up with something we are all comfortable with, maybe the Dev Team will like it too.

It's not quite the same, as I understand it.Combat playerswon't be able to stim their Specials Pool (or whatever it's being called this week ), but Mind damage, which would in turn reduce their max Specials Pool on Mind. The difference is that we would never *need* to heal, only rest for Specials Pool regen,as we wouldn't be taking action damage like we currently are but rather using our Action Specials Pool for dancing and flourishing. And with the Specials Pool having a much quicker regen rate than healing of damage does currently, we may not be in too bad of shape on the whole.

We may or may not be able to dance continuously for hours on end, depending on the regen rate of that Specials Pool and the rate at which we flourish. My guess is that overfloing for the faster buffs might drain that Specials Pool out though. Having nothing to boost our Specials Pool into not falling (the way that Accarragm or Quickness buffs do currently) means that we may have to stop and rest in between performing buffs. This we'll have to test...

If the argument is that dancers shouldn't be able to continue without a rest, how does that mean that combat classes no longer have to rest?

The discussion of bringingin 'blue stims'which will only benefit combat classes is infuriating and in my opinion a slap in the face to non-combat classes. With the new system we will not be able to be healed so we can continue to dance/play music, but people in combat can just heal their mind and never take a break.
