As one of the entertainers who has been around since the beginning and been running a band since 2-3 months into it (solo shows before that) I personally don't see any problem with it still being called a fame system.

As you say, any one with a bit of sense knows that the points just mean someone has gone through a set of hoops - it doesn't mean they are actually famous or can perform better than any other entertainer who has not gone through those hoops.

Example, lots of people go and qualify for degrees (i.e. the hoops) but put them in the real world where they have to APPLY the knowledge learnt and they haven't got a clue.

I see it as a system to be implemented to enhance the game play of those who don't find ways (through lack of other player support or what have you) to create content themselves, which in so doing may add something for the rest of us.

To the general populance I think fame would mean more than 'performance ability' or something.

im just wondering; how hard would it be to intigrate some thing along the line of googlesweb site ranking system but based off how many times a person shows up in peoples friend list. that seems like a fare way to rank player popularity

Some fantastic ideas in this thread.If the devs wouldgive entertainers some perk for performing to those of the same faction. One can only hope.

Yes it would be nice if entertainers had more to do ... some professions just have a large lack of fun to do.
