Sounds to me like the buff-bots are engineering their own demise.
They've been doing so all along. If any of them understand the mechanics of MMOG development and the importance of balance to the longevity of a game, then they have beenoperating whileaware of their limited lifespan.
We have fought hard for their ultimatedemise in thehope that its time will come while there are still some of us left.

I've been trying to argue the MMO design/player type balance side of the issue lately and I've found that.. well, people just plain don't care. They refuse to accept that there are "enough" people for it to work or even that my rantings and ramblings are based on anything other than an overactive imagination or just won't look past demanding that their playstyle be the only one that's important.
All it's really gotten me is my nice shiny 5-star overall post rating is now down to 3.
But I'm in good company.

I can understand that perception. There are buff-bots everywhere and very few ATK entertainers to be seen. I am glad that someEntertainers have decided to go back into the "battle" and make your presence felt.
I think that if enoughEntertainers do that and stick to it, that perception will correct itself.

if you are at the keyboard and there is an afk buffer there as well, you should not feel like you are stealing anything, because you are not!! i actually have felt quite the opposite way, sometimes giving buffs can be discouraging for me, having to compete with the spam of a toon who's creator is out for the day. if there is another at the keys dancer in coronet, i'll often let her have all teh business and find something else to do, or go to another cantina, but never for a bot.
as for the one star.. there is a thread on the tarquinas boards called "the one star ninja's stealth adventure" it's on the bottom of page 3 as i type this, very humorous. very

Well, my problem is that peopel say there are not enough people *who play games* to make it work. That no matter how attractive entertainer professions are to social players, there are not enough social players in the real life world for it to work.
That's just plain silly. I mean, how does the sims online keep going then?
