You are being sarcastic...right? I hope you do understand you are stating 100% of the problem right in that sentence."Playing" dancer is pretty boring. I can go to a chat room if I want to socialize. SWG MUST give me something more than a "chat room with graphics" in order for dancer to be a real profession.
No profession should have to create their own content in order to be fun. Every profession should be playable through game mechanics at least to a good extent. Dancer is no exception. Socializing is something we are forced to do as a dancer because dancer has no content.
Um, and what if I find creating my own content fun Vid? Everyone has different ideas of what fun is. Just because you don't find dancer fun doesn't mean it's not fun for everyone. I don't like PvP. Does that mean it's boring? Yes, to ME. but not to someone else
If dancer is boring to you, DON'T PLAY ONE!

That's not an acceptable answer. PvP has content.Dancing does not. I didn't read in the tutorial "Note:This profession has no content, don't play it unless you can make your own."
100s of people PvP every day on my server. Finding an ATK dancer (THAT IS ACTUALLY DANCING) is nearly impossible.
Um, what the heck are you talking about Vid? If anything, PvP has less content than Dancing. If you want to PvP, you have to go out and find someone to fight. Meaning you're creating your own content. Just because 100s of people do it doesn't mean they're not needing to seek it. It's just easier. Sorry, try again ![]()
As for not finding ATK entertainers, blame the hologrind.

Nothing personal but that is the biggest load of horesehit anyone has ever dumped on this forum. The dancers and entertainers started leaving the profession as far back as the days of the Baz Nitch mission greed. You obviously don't remember this but before the hologrind started it was possible to go into Theed or Coronet cantina on Lowcaand find at best one entertainer in there usually AFK training.
There were long stretches during the day that I in a guild FULL of entertainers was the only entertainer actually dancing or playing music... All the rest were busy on hunts, decorating their homes or crafting.
Ravenmist told us all that the fix for our profession dying was the addition of player cantinas.... Yeah... Good call there.
You're right Niza, I meant the AFK macrotainer to the degree that it is now. As in the AFKers outnumbering the ATKers by, what,10to 1, as opposed to, like you said, when you could go to the Coronet cantina and see maybe one or two AFKers among a sea of devoted ATK entertainers. *sigh*
Oh, and ouch. I know I didn't explain myself properly but damn!
Biggest load ever dumped on the forum? I think not.
As for player cantinas not being a good idea, mine has quite the regular flow of traffic through it. People now stop by to check for an entertainer, and expect that there's a chance of someone being there. And at one point I was the only entertainer there. Now there are three, and we alternate being there for our customers at the very least.
In the end though, I still believe that the majority of the problems that entertainers are having is because of the hologrind. My opinion. It's nice that they're changing it, but unfortunately the damage has been done. It may not be repairable.
