Lyrical doesn't look bad with a staff. However, it is bad when the person is just running a macro and drifting all over the place.

My general rule of thumb for weapon dances:

Lyrical: Staff

Poplock: Staff

Formal: Staff or sword (I'll even actually do the new flourishes with a sword.. The movements look more like a sword fight than a dance anyway.)

My lyrical staff costume was a brown wrap skirt with either black or white trim, I forget which, no shirt, and I think no shoes.. And I'd change my skin the dark orangish/reddish/brown color that twi'lek can be. It looked very primal.
