theres a difference here when comparing armor and dancer clothes. anyone could feasibly put on a leotard. but, who would use it correctly, and who would stumble around in it making a fool of themselves?

i think that the telling stats on "certs" are the mods that are allowed to be put in the specific clothing items. you wouldnt think that you could get melee/stun defenses in a leotard. and you wouldnt think that music/dance healing goes in a spec-ops duster.

i can see one of the reasons that the developers have added armor certs. and that is to create variety. right now, in pvp, outside jedi, do u see anything besides comp armor? answer...is sadly no. combat and entertainment are very different in this game. you cannot generalize.

a leotard may not generally be used for performance. i am going to make a real life comparison, please bear with me on this one. a hot girlfriend maybe inclined to purchase some sexy panties and parade around in them to make her "personal life" more amusing. now those same garmets maybe used by a professional entertainer. just because the hot gf isnt a professional entertainer, doesnt mean she cant wear them and use them in a productive way. the example here is of an item that does not take a whole lot of training to beable to use, or for that matter, wear.

take an assualt weapon, say an MP5. anyone can use this, but a lot who would use it, would be doing so at the risk of safety for others. there are reasons why one must have a gun license etc to own such a weapon, and there are reasons anyone can go to victoria's secret and purchase some skimpy panties.

So because I spend 106 of my SP being a master pikeman now to wear my RIS and wield my NSEL's it's ok for me to dance with them? Even tho, as my sig states, I **Edit** HATE pikeman? It's magically ok for me to weild a NSEL while wearing RIS while dancing because I waste 106 SP in a profession I will only use as an auto attack defense? I feel now that over 1/3 of my SP are entirely wasted on a profession I neither like, enjoy, or want, but I have to do to make my over 60mil investment in weapons and armor valid and not relegated to cantina decoration.

Having special danceclothes (seperated from the current selection of clothes) with mods that are certified would be awsome..

Imagine themaster dancer hawtpant

Now that would be intresting.. give. each profession the abilty to Modifiy exsisting clother (so as not to take from tailors) Kind of like how a Smuggler slices armor and weapons... only the Dancer/Musician is takeing basic clothing and adding bows, ribbons, sparkles and gems to it to enhance the performers abilities.

Nah, the whip would be a weapon cert for CH probably so we couldn't equip it.

Nah Allia thats not quitehow it works.

Someone would discover the whip in the tre. files

Creature handlers would obviously (wrongly) assume that it would be a weapon for them

Scouts would demand it because they get no weapon certs at all and need a whip to harvest meat

Rangers would submit several lengthy proposals on how it might be a fitting weapon fora Ranger and would like a hat to go along with it.

Dancers would like to have it under the condition that its not equipablewhile your afk

Smugglers would presume that its a smuggler weapon because 'Han Solo once used a whip...in another movie'

Pistoleers would ask if it was dual wieldable

Swordsmen would demand it because its obviously a sword...just like their hammer

Squad Leaders would need it for motivational purposes

And so on.

Eventually it would be given to the Armorsmiths to shut them up about the CU nerf

Nobody is asking to be effective using armor and weapons if they aren't certified. In fact, I could understand a certification program that basically said you can wear and wield, but until you get the certification they will offer you no protection and you will be unable use them. What would be so horrible about that?

I think it would be neet if they came out with dancer only outfits, ones that are more elabrate than regular clothes, *shurg* thats just me tho i guess, I like to be able to have all kinds of things to use while dancing, but I just think it would be neet for us to have more things that help us out like that.

But think of it this way: Clothing is just that: Clothing. Anyone can put on a shirt, pants, dress, etc. Armor actually restricts movement, vision, mobility, etc. This perhaps requires some training to get used to. I suppose complex outfits might too, but somehow I just don't see it as quite the same.

A lot of Dancer clothes, and musicians for that matter in RL would not be the kind of thing that most non entertainers would wear. My dancing outfits were not something I would wear on the street.

OK,I would wear them but would probably be arrested.

And I'd like to see the average person try and dance in 4 inch platforms, those things can be dangerous.

Hehe I have an Aussie friend that likes to call thigh high boots FMBs. Due to forum rules on language I can't actually repeat what all the letters stand for, but M=me and B=boots. Everytime I see boots like that I hear him exclaiming "FMBs!" in my head and giggle.
