I prefer Mich Ultra, really, but a good bottle of wine can really help you kick back and relax after a long week, right? I'm not talking about the super-fruity Arbor Mist crap (no offense ladies), but something stronger,usually with a nice oak flavor....
And "cheap dates" don't deserve a good wine.(I guess I could live with a $10 bottle from Publix / Food Lion / Winn Dixie, but they normally just get beer or whatever's in the fridge.
)
If you want good wine, try Solanera. It's anywhere from $12 to $18 depending on where you go.
You want a good wine for after a long work week? Try this stuff. It's great. There are some great wines out there that's aren't expensive at all.

Old vine, heavy on the tannins? Sounds good. I'm sure I'll have to get it online though.
[Edit: Cancel that, the place across town carries it. w00t, will give it a shot!]

i was perusing a couple of days old threads now, and i just wanted to pop in and say, you guys are lightweight drinkers. or maybe i'm an alcoholic. either way nothing quite beats a straight shot of cuervo gold. no salt, no lime, just burning abuse into the belly. don't ever mix cuervo and petron, it's kinda like an old west bar brawl... in your tummy.

I actually prefer the Patron Silver to any of the Cuervos I've had. (Does Cuervo have anything other than the gold and rested variants? I just see "Cuervo Gold, Cuervo Gold" everywhere.)
I had a reserva in Argentina that was really good, but I can't remember the name of it now. (Hell, I can hardly remember anything from that night.) Chicano? Chinaca? Something like that.
[Edit: Chinaco.Had to lookit up.]

Long Island Ice Tea - 7 alcohols, 2 of which are illegal in Massachusetts. One sniff and I usually topple off the bar stool.
Which brings me to the fact I do like wine. (cheap date)My best friend's father owns a winery and we have girl's nights over there occasionally. He is not certed for commercial sale, so it is a hobby really. The last time the six of us drank over 14 bottles, all of them with very thin runners. The good stuff doesn't give you a headache the next day.
It has pretty much ruined me for store-bought. SO amazing.
