Lies!

La La La La Can't hear you La La La...

I've been away from the game for too long, and getting my feet under me again has been slow so far. It's a little awkward coming in at this point. As a dancer, I'm not really sure where I stand in the game right now, and I'm not sure at all where I'll be once the CU happens.

I visited the Theed and Mos Eisley cantinas on Scylla, and they were empty. The only NPC cantina where I found anyone was Coronet. Last night, I was trying to finish out boxes for Master Musician in the cantina, and I don't remember a single person coming in for a mind buff. Has it been removed from the game already?

Without my hawtpants, I'd be completely lost. Now I just need to find a party...

Well I think we're both about the same thing Panthu.

I'm just way out of patience with SOE after being a Smuggler for two years.

Aside from entertainer professions I find the CU has removed a ton of depth and complexity to this world of ours. What they tout as 'variety' is variety in graphics. It really is a 'dumbed-down' system.

I enjoyed the 9 component HAM with it's richness and ability to make each of use different. The CU system is plain vanilla and does not lead to variety in the least. While I understand the issues the current combat system had with buffs and targeting weaker HAM components I STILL maintain that there were many solutions that did not require gutting our professions of content and the game of richness.

I'm a realist though and the CU is going to go through in SOME form. All we can do is make it clear to SOE what we're unhappy with and try and get a change. Unfortunately I don't subscribe to the 'nerf us now, fix us later' philosophy that SOE apparently does. 'Later' rarely comes in a timely manner and often not at all.

Again, my CU immediate suggestions for our professions are:

1. ALL elite profession skill boxes should contribute to health...not just combat related ones. Two elite professions should give 3k health. This would NOT in any way unbalance combat.

2. Dancers should get additional ranged and melee defenses over what we have as Master Dancer. This would make Dancer a supliment to a combat profession but not give us direct combat abilities.

3. ALL professions should be allowed to respec. If SOE is going to trash our profession then they should at least give us an 'out'. (I wouldn't myself but it is just right for those that feel keeping a gutted profession is a waste.)

4. If they want an easy 'filler' for the lines they rendered useless they could give us Terrain Navigation for increased movement speed.

The nice part about these ideas is that we can keep Dancer as our social profession and still feel as though we got something for our skill point expendeture. I am dead set against lowering the skill point requirements for Entertainer professions though as I think that will only lead to SOE not giving us serious content later to replace what they took with the CU.

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Two years of "Soon"(TM), a harsh bunch of lies.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie"

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Dancers can't smuggle and neither can I.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Why are there Jedi, I don't know why.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

SpinningCloud is absolutley right, all elite profession skill boxes should contribute to health. It makes no sense what so ever to wreck any template that includes crafting or entertaining by not doing this.

Our combat level should be on par with combat classes so hybrids could, as SpinningCloud said, be viable in groups and so none combat classes would still be free to travel/explore without the fear of being incapacitated by a Gnort. Crafters would be able to survey and mine, Bio Engineers would be able to sample dna etc etc

It really does seem the most logical and easy solution to not only our, but every none combat professions problems.

The Devs have already shown us that its easy to do this as they added Ranger and Scout to the health enhancing classes.

Please take 5 minutes of your day and simply scan the first page of every single crafter board...just read the post titles if you like but get a taste of the general feeling about the CU and what it means to none combatants. And remember that for every person that posts their concernsthere are probably at least another 100 that don't even visit these forums.

We will lose some great players and many will loose dear friends if the CU goes live in its current form for crafters/entertainers- and to me, more than anything else, that is removing the very best content this game has.

SpinningCloud please make a post of your suggestions somewhere that it has a chance of being read perhaps as a new thread or evenpostit on every none combat board,I for one willsupport every thread you make on the subject.

Wekeep being told that we are being heard and acknowledgedand even talked about on some boards that we're not privy to in a galaxy far far away...and that it will take time to get around to us. Well if the CU goes live on May the 5th the one thing we don't have is time. People will quit. Friends will quit. Players that give each galaxy its own flavour will leaveand i for one don't want that.

Then start asking for this in the focus threads, etc.
