Theatrical gives much less xp per tick so make macros for /changedance exotic2 (or 4) and /changedance theatrical and hotkey them. The 100k you need is 100k earned from ticks where you're dancing Theatrical so start with exotic for a flourish then change to theatrical and let it tick down to about 20 then do another exotic flo..it'll go by much faster.
Doesn't anyone else think that the fact that we have to do something stupid and artificial like switching dances to change the XP rate is absurd? I'm not saying this is bad advice -- the way the current system is set up, it's the most intelligent way to do it. But the system is utterly stupid and ridiculous, in my opinion.
The devs just encourage bots with this kind of grinding silliness. In fact they reward it, because most of us do not switch dances just to gain XP when we are actually performing. At least, I sure don't.
But then, I decided when I got theatrical that I wasn't going to bother tracking my theatrical2 progress. If I ever qualify, I will get it, but otherwise I just ignore it. I dance for fun, not the grind.

If we Had to..yes..that would be absurd..but we don't. I was in a hurry because I was storyboarding a video and needed to know (fast) if it would work. No one else I knew had it at the time so I grinded through it in a couple of hours. It is not how it was intended to play out but if someone's just getting way too frustrated with waiting for it..well..I think it is as understandable as someone feeling like they ought to leave their avatar animating for 10 minutes while they cook dinner.
Doing it at my own pace is how I've done it the other times.

I reached the 100k in Theatrical today and had a message box pop up to tell me had done so.
Now to accrue the rest of the 400k, but I shall do this at my usual rate of dancing. So it might be a little while before I report back.

Well it's either do it your way, or dance Theatrical for 20 or so hours straight, without changing dances, to get Theatrical2. All it does is change the base dance. I guess my point is, I think 20 hours or so of play to change the base dance of what amounts to a novice-level dance is the absurd part. Twenty hours of dancing, I could see. Twenty hours of dancing ONE dance, is nuts. Anyone in their right mind would get bored doing the same dance for 20 hours like that. And this is not like the other dances, where you can switch, earn slightly less XP but still earn some (e.g. doing popular instead of lyrical), because any XP you earn when you aren't dancing theatrical doesn't count. So your options are (1) fudge it by changing dances for a couple of moves and changing back, or (2) take 20 hours of doing just theatrical to get a slightly different base dance. Grind much?

The base dance of theatrical 2 is definately worth striving for. When I first started it, I believe I managed to dance out 10 hours of it while at the keyboard, and I admit, I got very bored. It didn't seem to really be going anywhere and I had capped on xp so long ago that I couldn't even measure how much I was actually doing. My best advice is either keep there for a very very very long time at the keyboard, or take it an hour or two a day...and not all at once. It'll drive you nuts....like listening to a starwars3 band play over and over and over again...... o_O

I like the theatrical dance a lot. I've been doing this for the last two weeks trying to accomplish this dance. I, too, am bugged unfortunately, so I sent email to our server CSR and I'm hoping she can help. But I love the dance. I've thoroughly enjoyed the time I've spent doing this dance, and I can't wait to get theatrical2 because it DOES look much better than theatrical.

The other annoying thing is there is no way to measure your progress. All the choreographer will tell you is to keep practicing. If they'd at least give us a progress bar then at least we could see how much more of it we have to do, etc. Especially for people who are capped -- why make it a shot in the dark? No other prof that I am aware of is left in the dark about its skill progress.

Just a little update on my quest: Chimaera is being rolled back a week, which means I shall be doing this all over again! I was half way through the total of 400k xp I needed for Theatrical 2.
I spent yesterday struggling to get used to the CU, fighting my way through the Korga cave, the vette and the DWB, dying several times, but having a great time. But the roll back is going to be very hard to take.

Gosh I am glad I got this dance, course it would have equated to 80k FS Senses XP on my way to Jedihood. I kinda wish it didn't use up the xp, oh well, I already spent it. Could it be changed to give a higher amount of xp than the other dances, perhaps make it somehow useful to us Dancing Senses XP Earners?

I thought people did the theatrical quest because they wanted to be a Dancer and entertainer. Or maybe I misunderstand your post?
