It has been severely downgraded. Before, just by being a Jedi Initiate you were able to heal your own battlefatigue. Anyone who would have Mastered the Jedi profession was able to do everything you see in the Jedi trees now excluding force armor, force shield, force gain reconsciousness, force avoid incpacitation. Now, it requires spending skill points in the "Force Healing" tree.Quite a fewof the "big"Jedi who are going to be doing a lot of PvP use the FOTM template which is Master Lightsaber/Master Enhancer/4004 Force Healer which does not grant the ability to heal your own battlefatigue or wounds. It just simply gives you the ability to heal pool points of your self and states.

The only ones who can do any of these things stated are those who take up the Force Restortion branch in Force Healer. Even with 4404 you still cannot heal other people's battlefatigue or wounds. A lot of playersdon't even bother taking up more than 4004 in Healing simply because it, like the other 3 trees,is completely broken. No speed mods. 4004Healer does just as good as aMaster Healer, so it'sworthless wasting the skill points there. You have to be Master Force Healing in order to heal someone else's battlefatigue, which use 1000 force points to do so.

One will always benefit, one will always suffer. There's probably no way to get around that. If they made it where battlefatigue and wounds couldn't be healed in the restortion branch then it would make that branch more irrelevent than it already is, and hurting the Healing tree even further, while Dancer/Musician/Entertainer would benefit. If they keep it, then Dancer/Musician/Entertainer suffers and this free is desired by those who decide to take up the Force Healing tree, although, that's a small minority... quite a few players want to be uber, not helpful.

The focused force crystal... big deal, it can be used once every 4 or 5 days. Dancer and Musician buffs still outweight it by far. I can get a Dancr buff anytime I want, I can only buff from my crystal maybe once every 4 or 5 days. I'm still going to choose the Dancer buff.

Winner: Dancer/Musician. Which, don't get me wrong--they rightfully should be, that's a good thing.

Also, I'll mention that how Jedi works is subject to change at ANY giventime.Penalties, abilities, etc. The whole shebang. If a lot of people start becoming Jedi they're going to severely weaken the profession. There's nothing to fear, the devs sound like they're actually starting to believe in balance, and this is one of the tings they're *probably* keeping a close eye on. What you see now is not final. Not by a long shot.

Pickles, I once feared this as well, but giving it further thought, I've decided it will likely not change the game much. First I'd like to point out that the path to becoming a jedi is still going to take some time. It's going to require some time before you can even get into the village of the Jedi and once you begin those quests, it will take at least 6 months to become a padawan. The 6 month time frame is only for those that manage to finish up their force exp during that particular phase. If you miss a phase of the village, you'll have to wait for it to reset before unlocking that force branch. Only one force branch can be unlocked per phase of the village, and I beleive there are a total of 6 phases in all lasting 3 weeks each. Don't quote me on this, but that's close to the number of phases needed.

Secondly, once one achieves padawan or initiate it is going to take an extreme amount of time to grind up to jedi knight, and believe me, from what I hear from jedi friends it gets old and boring fast. Also keep in mind that all these initiates will have another character slot. I would imagine that those that are attempting the jedi trials will definetly want to take a break and pursue their new character slot.

Let's play devils advocate for a moment and imagine that EVERYONE has a FS slot. I still believe that people will split their time between grinding jedi and playing a regular character. I think a fun combo would be to have a jedi, but also have a BH, for those times you get sick of the grinding, you can go take a shot at your friends jedi character, after all you'll know just where she likes to grind. haha

Also keep in mind that all these young padawans are going to want to stay off the terminals as much as possible. That means being discreet and staying away from town. So Jedi will remain rare. Even with an influx of padawans into the world, your still going to be hard pressed to actually find one.

Chin up! It's not going to be as bleak as some make it out.

In the words of Martin Luther King... I have a dream... that one day all of the Jedis and all of the Siths will meet in a big battle, that lightnings and the sounds of lightsabers fill the air... and a few miles away some scouts arrive at a hugh army of meanwhile neutral non-jedis and spread the news that is has begun! And that this army prepares for when the fools have killed each other and the battle between the force users is over, so this army can finally attack and once and for all wipe these walking neon lights offthis world... or maybe I just had too much Grey Gabaki last night...

I don't know if this even belongs on this forum, but it's something I believe is a threat to us all. I don't mean buffbots, or AFKers, or JTL.

I believe Jedi are the single biggest danger to this game.

In a week or so, the final Jedi publish will happen. This publish will make the path to Jedi more understandable and more rewarding. I expect to see many many more Jedi in the coming months, and I don't know about your server, but I already see Jedi everywhere. On my server, I'm more likely to run into a Jedi in the world than a master dancer. - You must not live anywhere near Coronet or any other major city.

Originally, the concept was to keep Jedi rare. That is obviously now tossed out the window. - Because people whined all the time about it being too hardJedi no longer suffer any form of permadeath, just exp loss (which for a Jedi is probably easily recouped). - No, not really at all easy. Sometimes it can take weeks and weeks of work to regain teh xp lost after a death. And being permanently overt after Knight rank makesdying annoyingly more common for Jedi.In PvP there is no competing with a Jedi - I'm starting to wonder what world you live in, I nearly beat a jedi when I was transitioning between combat profs, I was a half rate TKA and a horrid Swordsman with architect and merchant taking up the rest of my skills nearly bested him, so I expect everyone who enjoys that part of the game to aim at getting a Jedi first and foremost.

I fear the world will become stratified into "Jedi" and "Those who are Not Jedi. And about half the population will be a Jedi.Or more, over time. The fact is, there are no downsides to being a Jedi , and pretty much no risk left.- Except losing weeks of work for dying from forced PvP, BH gank squads, and the whole community flaming you The only thing holding back the tide was the frustration involved with becoming one, and now that too is being removed. Hardly, figured out numbers for getting initiate while testing on TC, 111,750,000 regular weapons xp and all the accompanying 11,175,000 combat xp just to get initiate, not to mention the enter quest, phase quests, and exit quest. This is to get your puny initiate. I'd say this is even more frustrating than grinding holos.

The fact that Jedi are not rare is kind of a bummer all on its own. The fact that all other combat classes will become obsolete in the new order is also a bummer. You can be a master fencer, but in a world where Jedi are around every corner waiting to kill you, you have no chance and the only option left is to become a Jedi yourself to compete in PvP. - Mentioned earlier, Jedi are not teh end-all in PvP

The worst part, though, is the Jedi's independance from the rest of the game world. They don't need crafters, they don't need entertainers, they don't need healing. They are apparently self sufficient, and in a game world that promotes and requires a player-driven economy, when half the population no longer needs the rest of the population for anything, that economy will suffer a collapse.

I see a black storm on the horizon bigger and far more worse than the hologrinding. What once was the most mysterious and cool profession of the game will become the norm and, in the process, destroy the game itself.

Why am I posting this? I'm kinda hoping someone here will say, "No, that's not the case and here's why." I'm sort of looking to my friends here to put my mind at ease. Please tell me I'm dead wrong.

I do agree with you that they should be kept alot more rare though. Many people want this, but also everyone wants to be one of teh ones that makes it. They're doing this to give everyone the chance to "Live the Saga" and make it their own, and hoping the FRS will keep the lower level Jedi from not being any better than a standard profession. It's just oo bad the current FRS sucks big time for Jedi and Non-Jedi alike. Please note I don't have a Jedi char.

Well the thing is this - there's more to "living the saga" than being a Jedi. Jedi aren't even a factor in the timeline of the movies. What is needed more is content that allowed players to truly be a part of the saga with or without combat abilities. When I first started playing in October there were Dev run events and spawns. I haven't seen one since before the first of the year. It used to be that players could and would develop their own events ( massive fational raids, etc.) but now it seems no one wants to put forth the effort.
