On the flip side, my blue and black infiltrator leggings both look like velvet tights, now. Actually improved their look with my favourite outfit. (Blue velvet with a white trimmed shirt...very classy.)

Well, considering the imbalances the melon nerf brought into the game, I guess nerfing bodysuits was more than due. *cough* *cough*

Uhm, honestly, I think this patch was the easiest solution to complaining parents. And if a lawsuit would be totally unrealistic in the US, Sony wouldn't have cared a bit. But as far as I know the US, nudity is worse than killing and lawsuits tend to be fought over silly things because the resulting sum can be incredibly large.

Sony would not have had this problems in Europe, where you can see naked women with only a piece of butter in their hands advertising said piece in tv spots all day. I don't mind nudity if it's related to the product ( i.e. shampoo ) but butter ? Man, I hate that spot. I feel a little bit underestimated ( "You man. We show naked. You go byour butter. Ugh !" ).

I agree that changing all bodysuits including black and white would not have been neccessary, but it was the easiest method that let more time left to be channeled into solving real problems. And quitting the game over a new bodysuit look ? If you're unable to create a new cool look, or totally shocked and upset because of your toons outfit... well, that's not exactly that much better than wearing a flesh colored bodysuit. It's just a piece of clothes. Make sure your gf does not hang herself when she spills red whine on her blouse. Maybe get her into protective custody when that happens. It's just a piece of cloth. Get over it.

Well, parents needed to understand that they were seeing a bodysuit - not nudity. Besides, anyone who has a problem with nudity has issues anyway.

I never owned a bodysuit, but to me, this change is a regressive move, meant to placate the insanely prudish people who are constantly looking for any excuse to spoil other peoples' fun. If players want to wear suits that make them appear nude, what is so wrong in that??? Nudity is not a bad or shamefulthing - it's the way God (or nature)made us.

Next they'll go after the fishnet suit that shows (OMG!) the character's ACTUAL BREASTS!!! Oh, the humanity! Of course if they do, they'll be nerfing a part of the game that is based 100% on the Star Wars movies - I don't think that will go over at all well.

Dear, the parents dont need to understand that, they probably wouldnt care. And if I was a parent I wouldnt either, I would still dislike it.

Yes there is nothing from with the nude human form, put in our society we can not run around naked in pulbic without getting arrested yes? You are all over reacting, it is clothing. And you can blame the idiots that love to post the LOOK I'M NAKED posts all over the boards.

Hey instead of using a bodysuit to get tips, trying being soicable. And you all do realize that perpahs the dancers werent meant to be stripers? Skimpy clothes is one things, walking around in a skin toned body suit giving lap dances in the main cantina is another.

You do realize that they could have just taken out body suits all togther?

I'm sorry to say this and I'll probably get flamed, but alot of you are either men, or need to stop playing this game and go by Sims online

It ruined alot of my outfits, but what I really despise is the look of eyes and a mouth on my lower torso from the placement of the splotches on my leggings. It is most noticable on the rose and blue ones.

Look closely... see it?

"the parents dont need to understand that, they probably wouldnt care. And if I was a parent I wouldnt either, I would still dislike it."

But why???

Let's get this straight - we're not talking about modern society here. Modern society has some wacky societal norms that don't make much sense, but that's irrelevant. We're talking about a game based a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. They have different societal norms there, and bodysuits aren't considered 'nude'. Your weird dislike of people wearing form-fitting clothes is not the norm in the Star Wars universe, and hey - it ain't even the norm on this planet either, unless you subscribe to one of the more fundamentalist religions that mandates clothing that hides the human form. Fortunately for us, many of those religions also believe that computers are 'the Devil' too, so most of the devotees of those religions leave us alone.

...and none of the bodysuits I've seen show nipples, butt-cracks, 'front-bottoms', 'satan-fur', or any other of what you13th century people might call 'devil's marks' or 'unmentionables'. Honestly, I think some folks are afraid to look down in the shower in case they notice that they have sexual organs.

Of course we're talking about modern society. Sony is trying to make money in the real world, not a galaxy far far away.

The game has a rating of teen, not mature. People were intentionally using this to simulate nudity. I'm sure they caught some heat over this. As an adult, I don't particularly like the removal of something like this from the game, but I certainly understand why they thought it necessary.

Honestly, if players had been a bit more discreet about where and when they used those suits, this probably would not have happened.

Oh please!!! These suits can't simulate nudity. They have no nipples or pubic hair for heaven's sake. If I buy a pink bodysuit everyone knows it's a pink bodysuit. I would no more be arrested for wearing such an item of clothing than I would dressed in a ballgown or a business suit. Heck, some idiot decided that skin-coloured bodysuits were 'the devil' and I'm being chastised forquestioning his/her 13th century attitude??? I mean I know America is the land of the small minded, but some folks here could make the Taliban appear progressive and liberal. What's next? Are we going to call George Lucas and make him add CGI clothing to Princess Leia's Hutt-slave costume??? I mean, grow up, people!

You said it all right there. America has a lot of small-minded people, and lawyers love to look for the next big settlement. When a burgler can sue a homeowner when he injures himself during a break-in, then things are out of hand. And Sony could easily be sued for the dumbest things, including faux nudity in a game.

Do I like the modern-day Puritans telling us what to do and wear? A resounding no.
Do I understand why a company doesn't want to risk losing millions of dollars in a frivolous lawsuit? A resounding yes.

If I ran a company that had so many subscribers, including children, I'd be concerned about image too. A lot of company policies are designed to prevent such lawsuits because they are so easy to bring up. And even though most of those lawsuits are dismissed, the PR damage is still done.

America is the home of the lawyer.

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.

Are you honestly trying to convince me that people were buying these suits in the exact same color as their flesh, but were not trying to appear naked?

As for Princess Leia's outfit, it was exotic, erotic and perfectly acceptable. Unless I'm mistaken, you could wear things very much like that in the game and still can. What's your point?

Look, Sony already has rules about that stuff. There are no nipples in any Sony game - heck, that's already a win for the Taliban, for crying out loud - I mean we're talking nipples folks. Now we can't buy bodysuits because, heaven forbid, it's form-fitting andlooks like the character is wearing a pink bodysuit!!! OMFG! The Taliban have won another one - can they go for the hat-trick? What's next? Will the exotic clothing become a thing of the past? Will the I Dream of Jeannie leggings get canned because they show a hint of leg? Will shorts be outlawed? I mean, where does it end? How far are we willing to go down this road before we get far enough that the Taliban and Al-Qaidabegin to look likeprogressive and beneficialmovements??? Heck, people in the 1920s and 1930s were more progressive in terms of nudity than we are today. Must we really cater to the Spanish Inquisition's view of morality? This is the 21st century for goodness sake.

Wow, Beery. Forgive me for saying so, but you're off the deep end with this. Are you listening to yourself?

I'm going to choose to cease this debate from my end. No offense meant, but I don't see a rational discussion coming from someone who compares Sony with the Taliban and Al-Qaida simply because they changed an article of clothing that simulated nudity in a teen rated game.

Rant away, I'm out.

Erm... why does everyone seem to assume I'm frothing at the mouth and about to burst a blood vessel. This is an internet forum meant for entertainment. We're not in a court of law. I'm here having fun, I'm not on trial for First Degree Murder. ALL of my posts should be taken as beingtongue-in-cheek semi-seriousrants. Please don't take me so seriously. My point is simplythat we're heading in a regressive direction with this particular game change, and I choose to use a somewhat strident 'Basil Fawlty' tone to get my messages across. Don't assume I'm being literal (or serious) when I compare this to the Taliban. There are no sacred cows as far as I'm concerned, so I might come off as a bit over the top, but that's just me.
