Thread: Top 5 issues You have with our profession.

Why worry about them? You'd be better off grouping with them, helping them get MAX xp ASAP so they can Master, then quit, and be gone.
They don't want to be there... but a shiny little box told them to, so they begrudgingly went ahead and took up the profession.
(I have my own thoughts on this "holocron" siliness... but I'll save that for another forum.)
When iwas able to dance ..
1 afkers get ride of them..
2 falling..master dancers should not fall.
3 to high of action cost..
4 not able to register in outpost..
5 i will use this..to please fix me ?
1. Fix the jitter in formal,formal2,lyrical,lyical2,popular,rythmic2
2. Finish the motion cap on our new flourishes
3. I would love to see a “mirror” ability that allows a dancer to chose the mirror opposite of a flourish. (mirror should be a toggle)
Example: Moonwalk makes me walk 3 steps left/slide 6 steps right/walk right 3 steps, it’s “mirror” would simply make me do the opposite walk 3 steps right/slide 6 left/walk left 3 steps.
4. Fix the body part bleed through on our clothes! Legs and arms poking out of a expensive gown is just tacky.
5. Use cantina’s as a place for CSR’s to hide and react to rude behavior (this is the place everyone comes together seems to me it’s the best place for a CSR to be if he isn’t out doing something else)
1 - AFK Entertainers. It's about time they did something about this.
2 - Falling. Nuff said.
3 - Finish your work on the dances. Every dance should have at least 8 motion captured (not hand animated) flourishes.
4 - Add new dances. Keep adding them until the game dies. This is our "content", and they owe us additional content over the life of the game the same as everyone else.
5 - Action cost. Both for dances and for light effects, the action cost is way too much.

The problem with most of these "issues" that are being posted is that they don't address the real problems with our profession. I hope that you'll put aside the opinion type issues and the me wants to really address the broken things this time.
1) Captivator is still mispelled as Captivater.
2) Our missions still suck. They are boring, they don't pay a master more than a novice entertainer and they don't pay enough to keep a player actively interested in doing them.
We have made tons of decent suggestions to fix our missions here and on the entertainers forum. Basically they need to be fun and have a decent payout based on the skill of the entertainer just like combat missions.
3) There is currently no good reason NOT to afk macro the skill. There is no content that people want to experience between novice entertainer and master dancer. Even at master there is no content to keep masters involved in playing their characters. This ties directly to #2 IMO.
If you give people a fun reason to be at their keyboard and actively playing as thier character you don't need to worry about entire cantinas full of heal-bots.
4) Action costs are too high. (An issue that is being addressed correct?)
5) Lyrical dancing woes. If you don't flourish you look like a drunk. When you do flourish you end up phased through a table and eventually pressed against the wall as you dance.
Something needs to be done to the long movement type dances (formal1/2 lyrical 1/2)to ensure that you stay in a confined area as you dance. If we could return to the same point at the end of every flourish for example we could make sure that we had a large enough area to dance in.
I've just started dancing, but my biggest complaint is the insane amount of experience you need to get dancing 4. It jumps from 15k needed for dancing 3 then to 45k something for dancing 4? As an artisian you can get most of the Novice Elite Professions for under this amount of experience, and its much easier to get experience in my opinion in other professions. Give me a break. With the time available to me to sit in the cantina and dance, it's going to take me a month just to get dancing 4!

You seriously mean it was higher? I think it's completely ridiculous that the exp needed for Dancing 4 is 45k and for Novice Dancer is 50k. I mean the 45k isn't even for an elite profession! My husband is a DE and his Novice skill didn't take that much exp. points. Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining about the exp. points needed for Novice Dancer, only the Dancing 4 skill in Novice Entertainer. It's amazing.

Many good ones have been stated. I'll state my own personal favorites, in order of my preference.
- AFK Entertaining. Leave it alone. Don't waste time with this. Do the other stuff to make ATK (At-The-Keys) entertaining more valuable.
- Registering with Cantinas on adventure worlds. Please make it possible for us do this.
- Denial of Service Enhancements. /denyService faction:[Rebel|Imperial] and /denyService guild:<guildName>
- More flourishes / dances / songs / instruments / effects. Yeah. All of that.

?!!? are you people on CRACK?! our entire profession can be mastered in 2 weeks *without* afk macroing and you are complaining about experience costs? holy god!
Speaking personally, I had no issue with how long it took me to gain mastery. I did it all at the keyboard and enjoyed the journey.
