Everyone says you don't have to do the missions, but when all is said and done the missions are 90% of the content, and for me, 10% of a game that costs $30.00 is only worth $3.00 if I don't intend to do the missions. Everyone who is toutingJTLsays that I have to accept the game as it is and adapt. Well I'm sorry butthat doesn't cut it. I play SWG the way I want to play it. Why should I adapt my whole character's philosophy - a philosophy I created and nurtured in a SWGenvironment that was already unfriendly to non-combat types - in order to meet the expectations of the combat types with regard to JTL? I've stuck with this game for a long time now, always with the hope that more non-combat content would come, but each time they issue a patch or an expansioncombat takes first, second, third, and fourth place, while non-combat content is either too little too late or not there at all. We keep getting fobbed off with promises of more content later, but 'later' keeps getting pushed further back while all the additionalcombat content gets fixed.

As the game expands, with more and more new features devoted to combat, my niche gets relativelysmaller and smaller (and it wasn't very big to begin with). Until SWG and JTL meets what I expect from a MMORPG, why should I pay more for getting less?

Noone forces you to buy expansion, noone forces you to change your lifestyle. It IS an expansion.

But it does not sound logical to expect something from an expansion pack that is announced as basic twitch combatwhen you don't have it also.

Aye, JTL is basically a twitch game. It's a great chance for an entertainer to vent their frustrations on weak NPC vessels, but all real benefits of the expansion will be noted by dancers on the ground, not in space.

Not everyone. My character is a pacifist. She can no more become a pilot than she can grow head tentacles and call herself a Twilek. Until pilot can be achieved without blowing people up, she can't be a pilot.

I don't know if this helps, but if you qualify for it you can pilot the SoroSuub freely and nonviolently. You don't have to, and furthmore can't, blow anyone else up nor can anyone blow you up. Plus you get some great views!

Well, I guess it "helps" in that people might be able to get healing exp faster because of the BF? That might be the only way. And, if afk and botting were gone, it might also mean an increase in tips. Maybe.

But, as with most of the fun stuff with entertaining, like dancing and playing music, it doesn't have any real benefit. It's merely something fun to do, flying around in the yacht. I unfortunately haven't had nearly any time to play this past week or so, and I know that after tonight I probably won't get to again until next Tuesday. But, I did get the chance to finally go up in my yacht tonight, and I love it. So many rooms, so many ideas, so many...parties. And, just like dancing and playing music, the possibility of the parties on the yachts is the real entertainer "perk" with this expansion. And, as others mentioned, it doesn't require fighting or aligning yourself to take your yacht up there. A really enterprising, creative individual or group can come up with great RP ideas, possibly even money makers. As I was attempting to drift off to sleep the other night, I was thinking of the possibilities, possibilities I would probably be far too lazy to actually do, but that would be fun. Of course, parties, weddings, etc. But, what about cruises? If I had the energy, I thought it would be incredibly fun to rent out my ship for cruises around the galaxy, take people to POI's, act as a cruise director and tour guide. This would, of course, involve a lot of initial space exploration so you know what you're talking about. There really are a lot of things someone can do with enough time and motivation to do so. Heck, let's say you're a tailor too...you could make your yacht a floating boutique. Line up your clothes along the windows, have fashion shows for the elite of the galaxy.

But, beyond that, it's true. Most of the JtL content is not really geared for us. But, the nice thing is piloting doesn't require any skill points, and it gives people more things to do. And, I love variety. Yeah, my main love is entertaining. But, if this is all the game offered, I wouldn't be playing it. I want to entertain, I want to fight, and I want to craft, do quests, participate in all the various forms of content that SWG offers. And, because of that, I just couldn't *not* buy this expansion. I know that personally I would always be really jealous that I wasn't up there experiencing space.

Your problem actually...

1.) Whoever wants tosurvive in ground that has JTL need entertainers to heal their battle fatigue. 200 BFand 200 mind wound almost 1K BF in an hour especially trying to learn game.

2.) Besides, being an entertainer does not stop you being pilot. Pilot does not need skill points.

3.) Space parties, space weddings...

4.) Winged Hawtpants, Leia's Skirt, Hooded Cloaks...

5.) Dancer Hammerheads...

What do you want more?

I am not really sure if you're trying to flame me or help me out... the issue we were talking about was a graphics issue.

Well. I got JTL and love it. Im going Pilot, and the Yacht is perfect for parties. But i Dance for fun and with friends, and occasionally buff someone i know, and nit as 12our Cantina shift buffer. Also, Space belongs to Starwars, and if you have made your first Hyperspace Jump in your Yacht, to travel, you see why.

One thing about JTL that doesn't help entertainers is the fact that if you aren't a veteran pilot you can't enter the tier of space where veterans play. There are different space areas instanced for veterans than there are for newbies, so those of us who don't like killing stuff can neverinteract with veteran pilots unless we decide to shoot down some enemy space ships. Yet another strike against the more peace-loving players.

Since June 2004, running one of the game's first completely nonviolent characters. Testing the limits of non-combat MMORPG play and trying to have fun into the bargain (although the developers make it difficult).

Combat is no longer compulsory.
