Reachy, this is what I am talking about. This is a (not very) veiled personal attack on at least Esharra, and probably Panthu and others, because you are stating that the correspondents are "silencing" us and not representing us. You're not-so-obliquely accusing them of being self-serving and essentially bad correspondents. This is not name-calling, because you haven't named anyone directly, but it certainly qualifies as a veiled insult, at the very least. In my book this is a personal attack. You're accusing our correspondents of willful malfeasance, and it's not a very nice thing to accuse them of.

I had to look up this word to make sure it wasn't cheese for my stickies. For those like me that don't know big words:

mal·fea·sance
Misconduct or wrongdoing, especially by a public official.

There I may have helped someone. *marks off her good deed for the day*Make sure you use it in a sentance today!

thats a verb . . . right? lol

It's actually a noun, lol.

Means misconduct or doing something inappropriately.

Ultimately there is no way to tell if a corr is doing his or her job. A correspondent could be legitimately posting your concerns behind the scenes, and not give an update every time that is done. A correspondent could equally acknowledge your concerns and state that he or she will bring them to the devs, but never do so. So, really, nothing said or done on this board is going to convince anyone one way or the other that the correspondent is doing his or her job, other than the fact that the devs picked this person based on a demonstrated committment to helping the community, and usually with the former correspondent's strong recommendation based on posting history.

Often, as well, a correspondent cannot speak freely, even if it is to say "I didn't get a dev response on this issue." In order to keep to the NDA, it may be necessary to keep out of a thread entirely. And, although correspondents do have personal opinions, often it is better to stay out of heated arguments, because a blue name may very well influence the "voting." It's hard, as a corr, to not sway the opinion of the masses, but at the same time know when to say "yeah, I agree, this sucks" so as not to seem like a total lackey. In other words, silence means absolutely nothing regarding what the correspondent is doing behind the scenes.

But one thing is for certain - complaining that a correspondent may or may not be doing her job is completely counterproductive. The devs who have the power to remove a correspondent aren't listening. And the correspondent certainly isn't quitting because of accusations. A good correspondent brushes off accusations because they are untrue. A bad correspondent doesn't care. Either way, nothing occurs.

Eshi is doing her job. I can't see it, but I know she is.

Very well said.

Panthu, my concern is that as a member of the community my voice is not being heard and the people who are supposed to be representing it to the developers are chosing instead to ignore it or worse lable it as outcast.

It's not just me who feels that way, it's just me with the skin thick enough to accept the abuse you and the others pour on me when I come in here and make the points.

If you were even mildly aware of the correspondant turn-over the last few months, you would know darn well that the devs do what they want dispite what the correspondants say or feel. Many professions have lost their correspondants because of strong differences in game decisions. What possibly makes you think they will listen to a correspondant when they won't even listen to a huge population decline by hords of angry clientbase???

Hey, I totally understand your anger and frustrations but don't blame the correspondants, they are innocent victims like the rest of us. Your anger should be placed solely on the devs as they are the only ones in complete charge here. This is SOE's gig, the correspondants are volunteers who don't have to be here.

The way it seems to work primarily in every game is this: the development team already have a concept idea on what to do with certain professions/classes and draw it up in accordance with whatthey feel it should be like in their world that we pay to play in.

Our voices as players to the correspondents, which in turn go to the dev team are looked at by the devs and if they feel it could be incorporated into whatever vision they have, it may bedone so. If it can't be, then it's not. Plain and simple. We made our voices heard, the correspondants do their job in presenting them. Sometimes it just doesn't happen. Are any of us at fault? Absolutely not. Pointing fingers at anyone here is going to do nothing but make our playtime as a group less enjoyable.

The trolls that roam here from time to time don't help either. They know how we feel, so they make posts that say "Wow you dancers are screwed" etc.just to see us rant for a while. To which my only reply would be, well if your profession is sofantastic than WTH are you doing here?

BF won't come back. Neither will anything else we had. It's changed for a reason. There's talk of new buffs and entertainer abilities that are in concept. Those are good things to focus on to add something substantial to what we do as dancers.
