If you put as much planning and workinto crashing an event as the event itself, if you role play your part just as well as the people role playing their original event... do you have as much right to the game world with your $15 as the original event planners?

I'm just baffled. I have no clue.

I think absolutely not. They forfeit that right when they chose to use their "event" to grief the original event. Had they chosen, rather than to grief another player group's event, to film their rp of crashing a mock event set up specifically for their performance, that wouldn't have been griefing. Even at that, they would have still breached a few other terms of service standards insofar as the political and racial statement made by the film.

Yes..if they had done it as Tuskens and raided an event planned specificallyto facilitate their rp..that would have fallen within the boundaries of fair play and the standards of the game. It would have probably been very satisfying to roleplayers to pull off such an event and to have done it by the rules. It probably would not have been so satisfying to griefers

Grief is grief, be it well ocherstrated RP or random jerks. This is particularly hateful in that it was done within the context of exceedingly sad real world issues. Poor taste is still poor taste even if it's polished.

Roleplay can't be an excuse to ruin someone else's game play. It doesn't matter how much time, effort, or creativity anyone puts into their character, if the intent (and from this limited peek into what happened it seems to be the case here) is to ruin someone else's game play simply because you can, then it's griefing and the people involved should be treated accordingly. I can easily create a smuggler, advertise my services and then "roleplay" a thief and run off with the goods. But that scenario has already been recognized for what it truely is and players are banned for it. Too often people use the old "it's a joke" line to justify their obnoxious behavior. It's only a joke if it's actually funny.
