Thread: Update about the Entertainer Quest! It's coming next week!
Please understand, OokoAjo, my remark here is not a reflection of my opinion of you (at all!). There is an insanity to this that can't be denied.

Apparently this information was not for public consumption. My apologies for betraying JustG's trust. I hadn't heard of this policy for PM's. I wish he would have specified that before I posted all of this.
To anyone who was upset over this, I apologize. I was only trying to help out the community.
I hope I didn't cause anyone too much grief over this. If I'd known better, I wouldn't have posted.
Take care, all. Won't be posting anything again.
Good luck.

And please do not think that just because of a little ruckus we don't want you to post, Ooko. You are an important part of this community!
We will all get through whatever next week does or doesn't bring - together.
Thanks. Don't know how I feel about these forums anymore.
It's pitiful to see all of us begging for information. And getting nothing.
I'm extremely bitter right now, regarding how I was treated in all of this. I asked the Devs for a status, I got one. I posted regarding it. Then I'm treated like the stupidest person to ever frequent these forums, because I didn't know that the info I got wasn't "for public consumption." It was a very sharp response to a follow-up PM asking if the base step for the dance was being fixed.
Someone please tell me, am I not a member of "the public?" Am I a Correspondent? Am I a Dev? How was I to know that I wasn't supposed to post anything? He didn't tell me in the PM, but he very readily put me back in my place after I was so excited to actually get the info our communities have been looking for, for a long time now. Too long of a time.
As I said in a post in the Musician forum - yesterday was, very strangely, the single best day and the single worst day I've ever had in SWG since starting to play this game.
Single best because a Dev actually PM'd me with info a lot of people are waiting for, and was excited to post it and contribute something significant to these communities. Single worst because I had this same post wiped in the Musician forums because the information "wasn't for public consumption."
I wish JustG had never sent me a PM. I'm not sure I want anything to do with these forums if this is how things work. Keeping the Entertainers begging and whining, and giving them nothing. Then, giving them something and NOT SPECIFYING it's priviledged information, then stepping on me, some poor shlub, who only wanted to play the hero if even for just a few hours.
Regardless of what happened, the point is - you all need to wake up. This Dev team treats us with no respect (with apologies to the now late Rodney Dangerfield (RIP)) and there is a severe problem with them. If they find it appropriate to withhold any info from us regarding our new content that's weeks overdue without notifying us, they are sorely mistaken. If they amuse themselves by giving someone some information we've been waiting weeks for, then slapping their wrists for rules they weren't aware of, AND get that person's post deleted, then fine. I'll have nothing to do with them and whatever warped reality they exist in.
This is nowhere near the service deserved for paying $15/month. My American Express card costs less than $8 per month and when you communicate with them, they kiss your a**. But I digress.
There was no reason for me to be treated like a clueless piece of crap because I don't understand the rules of communication between Devs and Correspondents. News flash: I'm not a Dev. I'm also not a Correspondent.
I don't appreciate spending money to get treated like dirt. I don't appreciate getting set up in the forums - BY A DEV - to have my posts deleted. If he didn't think anyone, anyone, ANYONE who got that info was going to post it, then they truly have no **edit** clue about what the hell is going on with our part of the game. I don't appreciate spending money to grovel like a disadvantaged orphan at the soup kitchen of the Devs.
I fully expect to be served everything coming to me in this game on a silver platter, just as most other professions who've gotten new content have been treated. At least they got the respect and dignity they deserved. They didn't have to beg to get a FREAKIN RELEASE DATE for their content.
I find it unbelievably stupid that I got treated this way, when in fact our Quest is coming NEXT WEEK. Next week - WHO THE FLIPPITY FLOO CARES about what's "for public consumption." IT'S COMING NEXT WEEK.
We are not even worthy of a week's notice regarding when our stuff is coming. Even when it's been inexplicably missing for weeks.
Pitiful. The treatment of Dancer and Musician is pitiful, and I'm not interested in being treated that way.
Just move on from it. Everyone gets threads deleted. Everyone here has been treated pretty badly by the devs, though perhaps not as personally. You're still a hero to me.

Chill out a bit. Of course you are upset. They took you to task when it was their mistake. Information given to a customer who is not in any official position or under any sort of agreement that covers such information can be considered to be released to the public. You did no different than a reporter would do given a nice juicy tidbit of information without the words "off the record" preceeding it. It was JustG's mistake, not yours.

Ok. You're right.
Sorry. ![]()
Now that's pretty funny. How could they possibly communicate with us less?

Oh, I'm sure they'll think of something.
I like it! Quix, you're a genius!

Okay - THAT made me laugh right at my monitor.
Then I thought about it and realized that I got about as much response from it as from a dev . . .
Panthu, NewJedi and Tiaga - you have my eternal love and admiration for all that you have to deal with from both sides of this message board! If SOE had a brain in its corporate head, they'd have people like you three on staff.
