Seems like they need a lot of new people for the Cor jobs, gee wonder why I got the feeling I am on the Titanic?

The Titanic could have been saved if someone was looking out and could have steered the ship in the right direction. Dig?

If I may cast a vote...

Shi'ann Dinova on Flurry server would be an AWESOME pick. She organizes many many dance events and truely cares about the profession.

Ill give he my highest compliment, she is Lum-tastic!

If you want someone in particular to be Corr, ask them to apply for the position. We don't actually get a vote you know.

We have had three AMAZING correspondents already. You might see as good, but I doubt you will see better, than the ones we have had.

The profession is NOT in the state it is in because the correspondents have not been working hard or doing a damn good job. It's the way it is because the correspondents have to reason with the equivalent of a bunch of boulders. After a while they get sick of beating their heads against a brick wall and I don't blame them.

I agree with the guy who said, "I can't imagine wanting this job." Way back when SlickRiptide (another awesome correspondent) quit, I toyed with the idea of trying for the ent correspondent job... thank the Force I was smart enough not to. I'd probably have been driven to do some very rash things, and likely my account would long since have been banned....

Whoever they get for this job needs to have the patience of a Saint. I don't envy the next correspondent. I really don't.

Player Correspondent Opening: Dancer

  • Are you knowledgeable about the Dancer profession?
  • Are you a community leader?
  • Can you objectively identify relevant issues and distinguish them from simply passionate arguments?
  • Do you like organizing information and corresponding with other members of a community?

  • Do you like being ignored?

  • Do you like being useless?

The Development Team is looking for a volunteer correspondent for the Dancer Profession. Participation is completely voluntary and you can stop helping out at any time. We’re just looking for someone who can help us sort through the various issues for this profession. Not that it really matters, we're gutting you regardless.

Some things that you need to consider when applying:

  • Developing online games takes a long time. Results happen with long time involvement.
  • Player Correspondents should be leaders in their community and set a positive tone.
  • Player Correspondents should understand the technical aspects of playing the profession and the needs of their community.
  • Player Correspondents should be in touch with the communities concerns, understanding the essence of why players pursue their chosen profession.
  • Please include your forum name in the letter

If this is something you are interested in, please write a short paragraph on why you think you would be a good candidate and email it to [email protected]. Please put Dancer Correspondent in the Subject Line. By submitting this email to us, you agree to allow us to contact you in connection with Star Wars Galaxies and agree that all correspondence with and material submitted to SOE will be the exclusive property of SOE and SOE may use such materials without limitation and in its sole discretion.

After we have reviewed the submissions, we will pick one person to be our correspondent. We will set them up with a special community title here on the forums and ask them to help highlight for us the relevant issues relating to this profession.

We will still continue to monitor the forums and read as many threads as we can. The correspondent is just to help us focus on the top issues and community concerns of the profession.

Thank you.

*Note: please make your letter the main body of the text. E-mail attached items are automatically deleted as part of our spam filter.

I used to want this job, like, a few months ago. Now I wonder why anybody would even bother.

Yeah, makes you wonder if them appointing another Dancer Corr is just supposed to be a placebo effect. After all, it's not as if there's a lot of interaction between the Devs and the entertainer professions. Whoever it is will get mostly ignored anyway...

I'd rather have someone actually in there fighting for our rights and ideas rather than no one to even speak for us. I'm hoping that someone who has been as passionate about Dancer issues as our last three Correspondents will fill their role.

I certainly hope that people are quietly submitting applications in this particular instance. I know that many of you are upset about the coming propose changes, but posting these things that have been already posted here are not going to help us. We need a voice that is willing to keep up the fight, no matter how dim the prospects may seem at the moment.

Good luck to all those applying. We are facing a challenging time ahead, we need someone strong enough to take our gripes, and even possibly cheers, forward to the devs. Although we all feel we have a lot to lose, I still feel there is a lot we could gain in sticking together and promoting dancers and all ents as being of real benefit to the world of SWG.
