I'm sorry that there are people out there with the argument that they just don't have as much time to play as some others. That's the way it goes. You simply wouldn't master as quickly. If you didn't have the time to take full couse loads in college every quarter, you wouldn't graduate as quickly. If Profession Mastery is supposed to be some given right, rather than something earned, then just do away with skill advancement and XP entirely - it's silly to go through the motions if the policy is to hand masteries over, in less than a week,to those who just don't feel like putting the time in. Just have all of the starting profession options be masteries (including Jedi), and we'll see very little change over the existing system. In fact, most people would be happy for the lack ofa "grind". And remember what the working definition of "grind" is here... getting past all the "painful"steps involved in playing a profession's development, and just getting to the endgame as quickly as possible. Want to make your customers happy by letting them AFK? Why not make them even happier, and do away with those painful steps involved... just do away with skill advancement, and hand over Master level professions right off the bat. /sarcasm off.

I am not sarcastic, but I would like that - for me, the reward is in playing the game and having fun roleplaying, not struggling to get a master title. I don't really get it why I should grind and suffer before I can dance exotic 2 or 4. Does it make me a better person? Does it give the title any meaning? Not at all. It only means, one way or another, that my toon spent x amount of time dancing, and dealt out Y amount of healing, if ATK or AFK.

My gripes with AFK dancers do not concern the practise itself, but the way it ruins our gameplay. If all those AFK bots could level up in aspecial area (coronet, cough) and not bother the rest of us then I would be happy. I am mad they playe their stupid toons next to me in a cantina, and spam their drivel all the time, wrecking any chance for me and the rest of the dedicated dancers to put on a nice show.

I could say more, but it's been pretty much said to death.

Yes:

Look, a medic has to be there to heal you. If not, you're just... s*** out of luck. Same deal with entertainers. I don't know why there is a double standard: it's equally inconvenient to find a medic in the middle of the night, but nobody suggests that they should be sitting in the med center with a /join macro and a /healwound macro.

However, the EH xp is too slow, which causes the necessity of AFKing for any who want to advance. Sorry, but it's true. If this change were to happen, it would need to be accompanied by increased EH xp so it would be actually feasible to master dancer, and entertainers would not fight over patrons to heal.

So long as our primary ability can be accomplished without actually playing, we could just as easily be replaced with a static Blue Bar Healer Terminal and this class (and the costi.e., motion captures, and developed time spent on it) could be removed from the game. If this profession is to survive, we have to have some function that requires a player actually playing.

Make buffing ATK only.

Healing I'm not so sure about. I myself was only playing ATK after i reached 0040 (started to afk macro at 0020 since the dances were so ugly and i wanted Exotic), and it took ages to get any healing XP. I think after 4 weeks i was 4142 or so, while the Tech tree was done in a week or so, and Dance XP capped after another, the healing just didn't raise... just couldn't stand it anymore, i wanted Exotic 4 to dance with my friends, so i've gone to Coronet again, and AFKed for 3 or 4 days again, and had my master.

I'm not angry about those that AFK to finally get rid of the stupid healing trees, that take faaaaaar to much XP for my taste, and that you can almost impossibly reach ATK in anything below 4 month.

I'm angry about those that spam their "Please tip your entertainers and watch me for healing" every 20 seconds.

I'm angry about AFK buffbots.

While i can just /addignore the first (and regularily do) the second ones are anoying, and i want them gone...

I vote YES.

But, only at Publish 10 or later. The hologrinders need to be able to advance AFK. Not because it's good, but because they'll be so cranky if they can't.

Also, I agree with N'Jessi that healing XP should change at the same time.

1~ most definatly one with a passion 1 maybe we can then regain cantinas filled with people not npc's.anf although yes people can just log onto or toggle over to there alt to do a live buff there will be less of these alt buffers if people actually have to atk all the xp.

I vote yes to making buffing atk only.

Healing is another matter for me. I am at the computer most of the time while grinding (this being the second time I have mastered dancer and the first time I am working on musician), however, with the way the current xp system is it just takes too long to grind through our class to have it be fun. I am only afk to shower, sleep, and watch the soaps. When I master both of my classes, I will never be afk. I feel if we take away the ability of healing while afk, it may disuade people from becoming entertainers due to the difficulty of getting healing xp. Many of us don't have enough time to play as much as would be required to master 100% atk in a reasonable amount of time. There are too few of us as it is, in my opinion. I would like to see more of us, not less. I do agree that Hologrinders make it less enjoyable sometimes, since they hate being forced to dance and complain frequently. I also agree that sometimes "live" dancers become too friendly with customers, making them uncomfortable and forcing them to chat when they don't want to. I have spoken to many customers and it seems they are on the fence on this one. They want a liveentertainerto talk to when they want a chat, but don't mind an afk entertainer when they just need a heal andwish toget on with their game. Thanks for listening to me ramble
