What esharra does seems to be the right step to the ent prof, and I think the mini publish for you guys will help out. What I'm trying to say is that this is what alot of Masters do, Arobus. Are you trying to say that cantinas are to be left to the afkers? Masters do not belong in the cantinas to make your stay more enjoyable, or to be available to buff your mind stats? (Keep in mind, you can't stop to buff in the wild. This is the reason we also have player cantinas.) I'm not trying to be argumentative, but what do you see the purpose of a cantina to be? You don't feel that the environment within the cantinas was much more rich when players actually sat at their computers than it is today?

Lol, and I wish our one-star bandit would actually stand up and share his views. He/she obviously has something to say, yet they've remained silent. (Save for the use of the forums' childish rating system.) Speak, lil' buddy! Speak!

I completely understand if they are too large to fit, or if the player is using them in a disruptive fashion, such as overlapping performers so they cannot be easily targeted. But there's more and more reports of people getting denied service because their gurrcat is lying on the floor at their side. They don't hurt you, or keep you from getting XP, and its allowed by game mechanics and CSR's. For many of us, our pets are as much a part of our character as your instruments and strobe lights.
I've noticed some people get uptight about this. I have no problem with it. In fact, I like animals. They're cute. And, I agree with you, you shouldn't be discouraged from bringing your animals into the Cantina. Tell the people who give you a hard time about that you will go use a buffbot instead. LOL
Let's just keep the malklocs out of the cantinas

That is sad to hear. Keep in mind however that hologrinding is not complete until Publish 10 goes live. Post an updated view of the Cantina at that time.

well I hope I atleast dont get yelled at by ents. I never asked for tips, and I only afked while sleeping, 3 hour increments as I buffed every three hours, got my dancing badge, music badge and ent badge then left the cantina so I wouldnt bother other ents. I even still get tells from some asking if I will be coming back, I guess it is just how you afk and if you even bother to interact when atk that matters in the long run.

I love it when Patrons bring in smaller cats or flyers and send them to follow me while I'm dancing... it's so cute!
I think the complaints are largely a left over from the old days pre-holo when people would sometimes use this as a technique to grief Dancers. They would bring in a big pet and plop it down on top of the Dancer so no one could target or see him/her. This tactic has also been used more recently by live Dancers to protest AFK Dancers. Also, a lot of times people would do their pet selling inside the Cantinas, so it payed to "show off" your wares. Sadly, the changes in CH (and Starport AFK Barking) have made this not really an issue any more.
... but I know from my old days of being a CH/Dancer, people don't like it when you pull out a Malkloc anywhere, lol.

I had a guy bring a Dewback into the Theed Cantina and we had fun with it. I would periodically say, "Welcome to the Theed Cantina: Home of the Dancin' Dewback!" The dewback's owner would then have it do tricks.

This will probably get me flamed, but I don't care really. I purposefully look for the afk entertainers? Why? Because I don't want to talk to some scantily-dressed (or not-dressed at all, in the case of Wookiees,) character, dancing and looking like a fool or playing their horrible music. I want my BF and mind wounds healed and then I want out. I hate the fact I even have to walk into a cantina if I don't want to.
As far as I'm concerned, every single entertainer could become a bot and it would make my day. (And maybe they'd shut up about NEED GROUP PLZ and that crap too.)

I happen to be an entertainer, and I've earned every single bit of my experience non-AFK. These days, theres just no entertainement in beeing an entertainer. I'm on the verge of becoming an afk-er because it's just not fun. In the early days, you could walk into a bustling cantina, people everywhere, talking about the day, or anything, it was fun talking to people while you healed 'em. Now, it's just empty. Like beeing in a room full of Zombies. Oh,Xenothaulus, if you didn't know you could, you can shut out player music in the options panel.

For starers, I don't really feel that the Hologrind era is behind us, that being said, After publish 10 (or even 11) AFK dancers are still gonna be there, they were there long before hologrinding, and will be long after. For people who say that staying at your computer and working to get master is just too boring to bother. My first question is why the hell are you an entertainer? =P
But then I think back to when I was a dancer...I'm not even really sure what it was exactly. For the first few months of the game, it was great, I didn't like the AFK-dancers any less then, but it was never a bother for me really. I met a lot of interesting people, while the afk'ers did thier thing. But once hologrinding hit, I found myself, just wanting to get the xp, finish off master, and get the hell out of there asap.
I guess the main thing, was back then, afkers were in the minority, People didn't mind coming to the cantina to sit a while and heal. Now all the dancers are in the front door, you barley have to set foot in there, get healed, and get out. Even if the afk population reduces dramatically, it still won't bring back the poeple, not for a while at least. As people are in the mind set that cantinas are only good for a quick heal, and not so much for sociallizing (cause you'll be lucky to find someone to talk to).
Me personally, I've always thought the best way to help the entertainer proffessions (by keeping the entertainers on thier toes, and keeping the afkers away), is by, insteading having the wounded watch/listen to you. The entertainer should choose to dance/play for them. That way Afker can't choose to dance for a particular person if they are gone from the computer, and entertainers will have a bit more to do that spam florishes, if they want xp, they gotta go around the cantina looking for it.
*shrug* just my two cent on the topic

I played an entertainer when the game launched, and only stopped because I swapped characters to one where dancing didn't fit her, not because of the boredom. Entertainer used to be a BLAST to play, with players coming to all of the NPC city cantinas (of course some were busier cantinas than others), and people actually carrying on conversations and such. Hologrinding and AFK macros in general killed that.
I do hope that after the hologrind is over, that cantinas go back to what they were. I only have a couple of requests for the entertainers who will be at the keyboard then:
1.) Please also disband members of the group who macro and/or begfor tips. That's actually more annoying to players than seeing the AFK tag. Yes, I know you want tips, but there's better ways to let them know that they are needed and appreciated; thank those out loud that do tip you, carry on conversations about the lack of tips if appropriate, etc. Whenever I see someone spamming for tips, I don't tip a single entertainer in the cantina. If no one is begging, I tip every one of them.
2.) Please do not discourage people from bringing their companion animals into the cantina. I completely understand if they are too large to fit, or if the player is using them in a disruptive fashion, such as overlapping performers so they cannot be easily targeted. I posted this in Game guides, but I'll move it here too.
