I think allowing only ents access to event perks would have gone a long way to make ATKers more visible.
In all honesty I don't see buff bots going away, as much as I would like to see that happen, there would be an outcry from 1337ers who want 24/7 access to mindbuffs. If there was some way to confine bots to player cantinas that might be a partial solution.
I shall be sorry to see a new friend going, Nelini, and I wish I could get you to change your mind. But I see and respect your point of view, the buffbots are in danger of winning.

I had a night like this tonight. In my cantina, there are usually between 3 and 5 Entertainers at any given time. Myself, a buffbot, and a handful of other who are either passing through or just getting their start.
Tonight was different. The buffbot wasn't there. I don't know where she went, I don't really care. She wasn't arround, so I was hoping to make some strong headway toward Master Dancer. I'm sitting at 4043 right now, needing only healing XP to get there.
Instead, what happened to me tonight made me log off in absolute disgust for only the second time since I got this game. The same people who came in to see the buffbot every night returned tonight. But as soon as they turned the corner and saw that she wasn't there, they walked off. I didn't even get the chance to greet some of them. As soon as they saw she wasn't there, they were gone. I could live with that, though, some people like to get buffed by Masters, plus I can't do Music buffs, so I can understand them wanting to go to someone else.
But some of them did stay. They walked right past me, to a NOVICE ENTERTAINER with a spam macro and an AFK flag. They completely ignored any attempt I made at conversation. These people were so afraid of thining of entertainers as people that they ignored me for a bot that couldn't do half of what I could. THAT pissed me off. Maybe I shouldn't have let it get to me, I don't know. But sometimes, people make me wonder why I bother.

I had the most wonderful experience, not on my home server of Corbantis but on my (shhh) secret character's server of Wanderhome. I was throwing out some harvestors when some giant mean wrix jumped on me and ate me. So the cloner threw me to the closest location - Coronet. While I was there, I decided to wander to the cantina and get rid of all the bf I had accumlated. Mind you, it's 5am AST at this point. I expected to find maybe ONE atk newbie entertainer or something.
Instead, 90% of the people there were at the keyboard! In Coronet!! We had an awesome conversation and joked around with one another. I wish that I had more than 10k credits so I could have tipped them all for being there.
Now what are combatants going to say when they say no one is available at 3, 4, 5am, etc? Because clearly there is and they welcome the company.
