Good discussion, I have to say I agree with most of what you guys have said.

just want to say that as a new entertainer looking to be a musician, it is definately hard to get attention in the bigger cities' cantinas. possibly a combination of me being a noob entertainer and not healing alot and also the presence of master musicians/dancers AFKing away. What i usually do is go to a lesser city and start playing there. i get some people to come by which helps my xp, but mostly its nice to have a conversation which is almost impossible at the crowded areas due to chat spam. One thing that attracted me to musician was how much fun it is while actually being ATK, using different flourishes and making combos and talking to lots of people. i think AFKers do detract from the fun this profession is, but that just makes me more determined to get my name out and spread the word so that players know there is at least 1 entertainer out there willing to help. My music xp is moving slow, but i am having fun, which is the point. AFKers dont force me to grind to make a living, it forces me to be better than them in other aspects, be it social or musical. Maybe i wont succeed but i can try. Until then i say down to AFKers and make the players actually play this fun profession.
