This has happened to me a few time now! And get this...I was buffing my alt so I have both sides that I can look at and experiment with. I tried a passive buff for 10 min...nothing..I tried an active buff for 10 min...nothing. I tried again with using the radial menu from my alt watching...nothing! I tried a speed macro buff, with both active and passive...NOTHING! Finally I said to heck with it and loged off... I will try it again tonight..but if it does not work...I may have to put in a strongly worded Ticket

Yesterday I have had the worst buff day in my career as a master dancer (thanks for the peptalk Deila!) and I was about to log and forget about it. Buffs would work but were minor. I even had a customer log out of frustration, we would meet again today but I haven't seen him. These are the kind of encounters I really find hard to deal with. You flourish your butt off and you hear: damn, 45 min? this is not worth my time. Cya. I was about to pull out all my hair.

Of course, at a time like that many people start to ask for buffs. I explain that there are some problems and I haven't figured out why. People still wanted a buff, rather a crap one then none at all, but I dont WANT to give crap buffs. As with the original poster my confidence just hit rockbottom, but decided to help them out anyway. I think I buffed 6 other persons, 1 failed entirely, the rest 1 1/2 max (and that's 10 min, almost constant spamming flourishes). I also noticed that it didn't matter at the time whether it was active or passive, it was al stuck on 10 min 1 1/2 hrs. (2 groups of 2, 2 individual).

At some point I did a reset (maybe I should have done this right away), then more people came for buffs and I decided to give it a try again, givng the customers again fair warning. So I took a deep breath, got setup for another 4 1/2 min buff and once done I asked for duration. I don't think I've ever hated to ask this question. Finaly the words came (amazingly how yuo really need to know they take forever to respond). Yes, 2 hours. Weeee! Finaly.

Any buff from there on has been successful. Tho I hope that I will still be able to meet again the people I failed on, so that I can show them that I really can buff.

Do we know for sure that 150 flourishes is the magic number for a full duration buff? Because if that's the case, then my flourish every 8 seconds or so for 8 minutes should have never given a full duration buff, being only 60 flourishes. Yet, at one time, it seemed to work for the full two-hour buff.

Of course I know that flourishing every second for 4 minutes works, but that's 240 flourishes, way more than 150.

Ever since that patch, I get a failed buff around 20% of the time. It's extremely frustrating. Especially after I had become somewhat well known as a very good, professional, always accurate buffer, always taking the time to explain how everything works and working with all of my new customers very patiently to make sure they knew exactly what they had to do to make the buff work.

Now, of course, it takes extra explanation because of the whole dance/music buff combo failure. And, unfortunately, my buffs have even been failing at times when there is no musician. It's almost like I have to make my client do absolutely nothing but watch me and perhaps chat. I try doing all sorts of things, like putting my droid away. Stop dancing, then start, then say watch me, then not do anything else but flourish. I'm afraid to target anything, or anybody else. I can't /smile at anyone else besides my client. I try to take every precaution possible, and it's still failed. It's getting extremely frustrating both for me and the people I have to try and rebuff 3 or 4 times. I no longer even attempt the 12 minute buff. I overflo all the time and try to get it in under 4 minutes because there's a 20% chance that it will fail the first time. I don't care how I look anymore. I just buff, buff, buff. Some of the people didn't even understand how to follow directions before this happened. At this point, there's even more mass confusion. And, I have had to apologize in advance in case it doesn't work. And, I've had to refund money on more than one occasion. I have to think that there's more to this than just them trying to get a buff from a musician. I think there's got to be a general bug that causes buffs to fail randomly from time to time.

Only 20 percent of the time Drygo? I have it happen HALF of the time!Last night I gave buffs to4 people. On two of them I had to re-buff. AND - wouldn't you know that the oneplayer who stiffed me for my tip got the buff the first time?!

Ciate, that is true about the radial. We always inform our patrons to type the commands instead of using the radial. This recent buff bug is different, though, as it seems to happen no matter how they watch or listen and seems to happen more when the patron tries to do both at the same time.

Based on my experience, it is my theory that buffs will fail if the viewer selects watch from the radial menu instead of actually typing /watch in the textbox. I'm not sure this is the actual reason, but it seems to hold true for me, at least.

Hi hi.

I'm a Master Dancer and I've only buffed once. I did okay, got paid a good amount...

and really didn't want to do it again for awhile. Why?

Well, for me, its the all the unknowns...how long will it last? Did I flourish enough?

Is the person watching? Is 8 minutes enough? Will this person get pissed off at

the buff amount? How do I know what the buff was (without taking a stranger's

word what it was.)? How can I control this better?

All those questions popped up, and I didn't want to do it again because I didn't want

to get a bad reputation. Am I paranoid? hah. Probably but still, this is my profession

and I want to do it well. People love my Image Designing, so I want the same for

my dancing.

Doctors (I'm assuming here), can see what buffs they give. Healing types can tell when

they use stims what they heal...I'd love to see the same.

Too many unknowns...

Practice makes perfect! Or as far as SWG goes practice makes better!. . . .sometimes at least . . . Anyway its pretty much accepted that time has little to do with buffs, after the 2 minute minimum that is. It all has to do with flo count. The magic number kicked around is 120, I believe. Your buffs will double the patrons mind the flo count dictates the length. A max buff for us is 2 hours although I have had them go to 2 hours 5 minutes. (When Lei was in top form ) So anyway practice on some people, advertise free buffs get your confidence up. Most people whofrequent the cantinas for buffs understand the quirky nature of the beastie, so don't let it throw you.Above alldon't worry about it. I'm the unofficial worrier for Bria and I'm sure you have one on Bloodfin, (unless of course its you) we do allthe worrying so you won't have to.

Thanks for the encouragement.
I was asked to mind buff some of my fellow PA members, and all

went well. They seemed happy with the buffs.
