No, you aren't the only one. I want that second slot so bad that I'd give up Panthu's right arm ::flees:: I don't want to drop Dancer. I don't want to drop Image Design.... So I'm stuck. I also have pistol skills that are a pain to work up. But I MUST have that second slot to play that Ithorian I want so bad. (Deleting Irys is not an option.)
So... well. I guess I just have to suck it up and deal. My RL fiance is going Combat Medic so I suppose I can get my healing trees in dancing back up with his help if he goes and poisons another friend of mine. Sadly, Dancer is easier to get back than Image Design....
Then I have to decide if I will Ever go Jedi with Irys... probably I won't... and is the +20 to mind healing (oy) worth all the work or should I just pick up combat enhancing things instead to augment my limited pistol skills?
Dang it, all I want is that second slot. I don't really want to be a Jedi- at least not while it's a big fad. ::shrugs:: I suppose I'll see when I get to that bridge.

Hmm, so if your second character opens up his/her/its six lines and padawan, will it still go poof when your first character then drops the FS lines?
(And I'm still quite unhappy about this situation, if it's true).
Oooh ooh ooh, good question! I wanna know the answer to that one too!

Well for the time being I have decided to keep Master Dancer and Master Fencer and just give up my meditate line
with a little more medic instead which will give me the points needed for the FS skills. I really don't want to have to do this, but until something is done to allow us to drop all these skills when we're finished I don't really have any other choice without dropping fencer and going back TKM but I love my fencer skills SOOO much and dropping dancer again is SO OUT OF THE QUESTION!
Oh well, nothing I can do! Thanks guys for your awesome support and thanks a ton Panthu for being the rockin' correspondant you are.

You don't have to take any Force Discipline boxes, you do have to keep the 6 Force Sensitive lines. I don't like it either, but that's still the answer I've been given.
For the record, I have pitched a fit about this in the Corr Forum, in emails, and in person at the Summit. I know a lot of Ents just want the second slot. I will continue to complain about this as much as I can as the Dancer Corr, but you guys would really be better heard posting in one of the non-Profession forums I believe.
A lot of Crafters feel the same way about this and you will most likely get more attention going after this in a combined effort outside of Profession Restrictions.

Panthu, you're rockin, as always!
Thanks for the advice. I'll see what forum I think will be most appropriate for bringing up the issue. The Jedi forum comes to mind, but that's still a profession forum so to speak.

How many lots does the second (non-jedi) character slot get?
Thanks in advance,

The second character shares the 10 lots of the main character.

The second slot does have ten available, BUT in the old system they also had ten available but were unable to place deeds. Prior to Publish 9, TH stated that the two slots would share the ten lots so that any account would only have 10 lots per server. So while you can place 20 lots between your two characters, you can not take it for granted, it can be changed back to only 10. So be diligent in knowing what is occurring to avoid losing anything.

If I have a pre-patch 9 jedi, can I delete the original non-jedi character I unlocked withto create a new character in the original non-jedi slot?

Yeah, but like he said, the Jedi was the secondary account tied to the original. Noone knows if they are truly seperated post patch now. You would hope that you could.
