Dancer should be reduced to a zero point profession ala politician.

Though politican is zero points you still have to earn xp to advance along its trees. In fact its not easy to become a master politician, even though its zero skill points. Wihtout earning XP you can not become a master politican. If dancer is reduced to zero skill points you would still spend as much time earning advancement as you do now. No change there, you just get all those skill points back.

The current patch reflects the most that is going to be done for dancer from a visual graphics aspect. The new dances and props are all very nice and a true enhancements to the game. But, flashy toys do not equate to being a part of game mechanics/play. The profession is simply not veryrelevant to the game play of other professions from a pure game mechanics stand point.

Reducing dancer to zero skill points would not impact the number of ATK dancers in the game and would also have no impact on people that love dancing and could careless about being necessary to game play profession.

So, reducing dancer to zero skill points certianly would reflect the value that the dev's have placed on this profession in relation to game mechanics and would not impact anybody's game play; however it would free up enough skill points so that anybody that worries about being killed when leaving the cantina could pickup additional combat skills (or crafting) with the freed skill points.

Reducing it to ID xp points is far enough I'd say. You don't want it going to a sepperate pool or not at all because then we're no longer a class.. we're just content, something to do besides a class.. heh. Prefer there being something to give up to be a dancer. I usually run my Master Dancers with another Master Combat profession with a lil extra mixed in. A few more points would be all I'd need to be pretty happy at this point on the combat side, but Master Dancer is the most important thing to me.

If I wasn't as dedicated to the Master Dancer.. or became less so in the future I could always drop half the branches in it and Master and still have most everything I love.

It doesn't cost any skill points now. You still have to train it up the old way, but it doesn't take away from your points for other profs any.

I don't think I know her well enough to say something like that.

The Devs said "NO WAY" at the Fan Fest.

As always, things could change, but for now, there is no plan to go zero points.

Yep. I did some huge updates about it and posted to all the Ent forums. They put it up on the main SWG site recently...rather...a link to *all* the folks who posted their Fan Fest stories:

Nope, I don't and I've received no indication that the devs do either. If we asked that our SP investment be reduced, I think they would take the request into serious consideration. In the future and if we were to persist with asking for it, they *might* be open to considering making us quest-based, like Pilot, and at that time they *might* consider eliminating the SP investment. However, to reiterate,I've received no indication that they are considering such at this time.

Opinions regarding SP investment is one of the topics which I consider a barometer of playeropinion toward the dancerprofession. I occasionally ask opinion on this topic because its discussion evokes dialog that I find useful. When I ask about SP reduction or removal, my query should not be misconstrued as an interest in removing SP investment by myself or the developers.

I am not sure that I feel it should be a zero point profession, but a reduced cost would be nice. I love to dance, and I always will, but being able to do some other stuff in the game so i can feel a little more needed would be nice.
