I forget the actual name of it, but it reduces the time to give an entertainer buff by a certain percent. The food my chef/bio guy made on Eclipse gives a 41% reduction in time.

It used to be that the food was useless due to the bug where you can give full buffs in seconds, but they fixed that with this last patch. Unbelievably, not one person has purchased or asked about the entertainer buff food.

My question is, does anyone currently use this food ?? Do you like the fact that you can give a buff in about 4 min 30 seconds instead of 8 min ??

Thanks,

T'ssolosk. I believe either the person getting the buff has to drink it, or it doesn't work at all. There's also a couple items that increase Entertainer healing, not that anybody cares.

From what I've heard T'ssolok, or whatever it's called has to be used by the person receiving the buff. When I was given some from a guildmate, I tried drinking it myself, but it didn't work.

The problem with having the buffee drink it, is that it's already rather complicated on the part of the buffee to receive abuff in the first place. For a doctor buff, you just stand there and you get buffed. For a dancer buff, however, you have to make sure the buffee watches and stop watches at the right times, and uses the appropriate commands. Add to that complication now having to explain to the buffee that he/she can't get a musician buff at the same time. It may not seem like much on the surface. But, some people just get a little confused already because they actually have to take a semi-active part in the buff process. Trying to get them to drink T'oslok (sp? lol) on top of what they have to do just adds complications to the whole thing, which is why I just don't think it's caught on. Plus, the fact of the matter is, I'm not about to go buy a lot of the drink to /trade with all of my clients (further adding complications because we have to stop/start and the whole 15 second thing). So, while this may in fact be a valuable drink, I really don't know because I don't know of anybody who actually uses it while watching me. If I knew for a *fact* it worked, and had cold hard stats I could share with my regular clients about it's effectiveness, I'd have no problem suggesting they pick some up. But, since I don't actually know that it works or how it works yet, I'm not going to do that. (Anyone want to experiment and post? heh) But, even then, I'd only "explain" it to my regular clients. I don't think I'd bother with the new ones who are already having a hard time with the /watch command, lol.

So, even though the idea of this drink sounds great. I think probably chefs might be better served to try to sell it to the non-entertainers, and explain the benefits to them. I wouldn't mind helping out doing so if it decreases my buff time and I can adequately explain it. But, right now I just don't feel confident that what I tell my clients would be accurate because I don't know the real facts yet.

Small point, but I do believe that you can actually trade WHILE dancing now. I'm pretty sure I've done this a few times. They have been secretly improving the trade windows for more cases, though there are still more to go.

I think you're right about that, actually. I do remember trading while dancing fairly recently. But, still, I'm very leery of doing anything while giving a buff these days, because you never know what may cause the buff to fail. So, I'd much prefer if the client already had their own t'ssolosk beforehand, especially if I'm group buffing and inviting people into the group and whatnot. It's all very iffy at this point what I feel confident in doing to prevent my buffs from failing. But, yes, I think you're right.
