Believe me as a programmer I'm very aware how non trivial this change is. I imagine addine a new type of xp doesn't make the DBA happy either, as now all characters need a new field.. (Well, depending on how they do xp)

I really, really, really wish we would have made entertainer missions the priority.. I really don't want to heal players anymore and I don't want to buff their minds. I just want to hang out in the cantina and entertain folks. The ability to make money instead of being a beggar with my hat out would be sweet.. Instead they are just going to encourage more jackasses to come around and ruin the atmosphere of the game areas I enjoy.

Sorry to troll, but I used to be a dancer. I tip entertainers well, but I never tip AFK'ers. I hope they don't have targetted buffs since in my cantina there are usually 10 - 20 patrons to 3 - 5 entertainers. Also, maybe it's just me, but with a female character who's not a dancer I don't seem to make much of an impression on the dancers, even though I'm a generous tipper. But when guys walk in they are all over them, so I feel I'd be on the end of the list anytime there's more than one person to buff. Also, if you are a Rebel dancer and you target an overt Rebel, would you ge a TEF? Doctors and medics do, so that has to be considered as well.

As a combat profession no way am i going sit in cartina for 60mins so that i can get a buff which i will lose as soon i die. I am also a master doctor i can sell buffs and are instant to put on.

Why shoulded the dancer/Music buffs be simlar you go up to player ask for buff , he says 500 credits you pay he buffs for 100% your stats for 2 hours as master and less if he not a master.

There you have it players are not gonna wish to wait around cartina for 1 hour get full benefits of your buffs sorry its pointless in currently. A buff isnt something you should need waste hour of your game time to get it should be direct exchange i pay entertainer credits and they give me the buff.

Makeing it require the player to watch the entertainer for say 30 mins so you can buff your mind for 1 hour and run a few missions just results in a painfull time sink. And no player will wants waste game time.

Make the buff instant and then you will definately have a method of makeing cash you should also push for effects to be 50% of players stats other wise you will be destroying the food and spice markets;.

In response to Draxous

I partially agree with you here. Perhaps and alternative that would satisfy and not hurt the spice market.

First off Make it so that in order to target apply the buff the patron has to watch for 5 minutes AFTER all mind wounds and Battle fatigue are at zero.

This way ONE

Buff can only be applied in a camp IF the person has no BF

Also since mind wounds need to be removed it still gives entertainers something to acheive besides being a bot for the mind. I am sure most of my entertainer friends would agree we DO like character interaction and social aspects of dancing and playing music just as much as feeling needed.

Secondly because of the need to be rid of Battle fatigue and mind wounds the spice market would not be hurt since Spice is meant to be a short term boost under certain circumstances. I also have a feeling that the effects stack with spice i havent tested this theory perhaps i will.

This being the case you might possibly by using Muon buff your mind for almost 3k thats not bad considering what it took to get it.

The thing is here though that the targeting MUST be. Otherwise we are just compounding the problem that entertainers already face. And thats Macrotainers.

I havent surrendered my dance skills But i am on strike until this is lessened and i am useful again.

For now i am only dancing for friends and myself thats it

So dont even ask.

Well I agree whole heartly that unless its a targeted system its a waste. Again the fighter types will get the benefit of the bots. As for the down time geez get over it...if you dont want to take a eating break or shower then forgo the mind buff as its not a requirement....or pay a doctor for a buff. Entertainers still have no power to earn so I will keep doing missions (erm not the entertainer missions btw). I dance now in cantina when I want social interaction and sometimes just sit at a table chatting while letting someone level ID on me lol. It is nice that now as a master dancer I can chose what I do.

I took a trip to Lok to dance and see what it was like there..rnd trip expenses A LOT from tat. Out of healing over 32 ppl with no mind whatsoeverrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..i got one person who said ty..got one tip and that was a really nice one from a doctor. Didnt really care bout the tips but a ty would of been really nice. Tried to converse with the ppl...they ignored me and talked amongst themselves. I know should not hurt my feelings but it did...really felt like an npc . Oh and I was only entertainer there too ...shouted out if anyone needed healing there was a dancer in cantina. Lots of customers but definately place for an afker bot.

We need some CONTROL of our healing / buff abilities if we are ever to be seen as useful. As it stands now the afk bots is all that is needed.

Ok, I'm not sure what the problem is with the AFK-bots. In the theed cantina on bloodfin we always have a handful of afkers(increases as the night goes on). From what I have seen, when people come in to get healed they always go for the people that are at the keyboard. Personally I think I have got 2 tips while I as afk. Having the AFKers in the group also gives me bonuses to XP. Now what I don't like, is that the master dancers come into the cantina, won't join the entertainer group and then go afk macroing. Everyone sees the master title and since they are not grouped nobody gets any XP from the healing. I find it to be exteremly rude.

I always thought you played the game to have fun.

Had they made the Mind Buff targetable, the way most people agree it should be, then you would have had your sure fire money-maker right there...

Well I try to pay special attention to the females, simply because most ignore them.. Of course, I'm also a guy.

all they are doing is phasing the chef profesion out of the game.. making the single targeted buff even comes one more step closer to making the chef a pointless profesion .. they already took away the ability to buff from the chef now they just make items that you can drop on the ground to look cool.
