I PVP as a Dancer/Creature Handler/Novice pistoleer.

I have had to invest in skill tapes, high end armor, high end foods and PVP-oriented pets (mantigrue screechers mostly). I often fight without any buffs of any sort aside from food, and fight without mind enhancements 99% of the time.

I can't take anyone on one-on-one, by myself, unless they're extremely unprepared or new. But as I've learned my limits and skills I'ev gotten fairly adept at staying alive in a group situation while still helping out. Plague strike can be just as bad as CM disease, and even minor annoyances like bleeding can cause someone to have to take the time to cure/heal them.

Try a few different things... see if you like melee or ranged.. But don't be afraid to die. Just clone and come back, persistence is a weapon too.

Believe me... CL10-Pets are no good for fighting any higher-Level. mobs at present.

i really hope, after the Combat Revamp, Master Dancer/Master CH is a viable iemplate again.

I haven't tried Tara against rancors (since the Janta missions end up paying much more per hour), but she tanks Jantas and Mokks for me all the time, even since they've had specials reactivated. I would *never* put her in the way of GDK's or Krayts of SBD'sthough... /shudder. I love my kitty. I'm not just sending her out to be eaten.

But, I don't really thinkGDK's, Krayts, SBD's, or even rancor lairs *should* be soloable, even if they are right now for some builds. Jantas and Mokks, sure, soloable. 5 primitives, set on by a big cat and a wild rifle. Could be done.

Remember though... Tara is a BE pet at CL10. Not a regular wild CL10. Over 10k health and 59% kinetic resists. Add doc buffs, a mind healing macro for her that can be used in the heat of combat, and pet stim C's and D's. She's had no problems with reasonable tanking duties.

Um...yeah, they are, as long as they're bio-engineered. Natural CL10 pets won't do you any good.

I've slaughtered many an Enraged Rancor lair with a BE'ed Gurrek and my master rifleman.

I'm baaaaaack
And it looks like I'll be going again.

I always had Dancer /Riflegirl and it's pretty good for both Pve/PvP, for PvE I just need to keep spamming Concealment shot or headshot and for PvP the wonderful still not nerfed Strafe Shot 2, I like it a lot, the only bad thing is that you need to buy tons of food since you can't mind buff yourself just like you do with all the other people in the group

Hounds are aggressive skins, so I don't know if there are any that a non-CH can use.

O my god, Xyrdre! You can get pets Engineered to be non-Creature handler level can't you!?
I mastered Creature handler and got my two gorgeous Slice Hounds engineered for me, but I haven't used Creature handling skills in awhile.
Think I can get a good non-Creature handler Bio-Engineered Hound!?
That would make me happy!

Ding ding ding!

My aforementioned Tara kitty is CL10. She also has two special attacks, but as I don't PvP and she really just tanks for me in PvE, I never even use them. She was expensive (350k), but well worth it, as it frees me up to have fun soloing missions as a ranged combat participant when I don't have a melee friend to run with. And she's soooo cute too...

I don't know for sure exactly what kinds of pets can be engineered down to CL10 for non-CH's, but I imagine that your local Master BE could help you with your available choices.

Also, remember that even a lot of buffing docs don't know thatthey canbuff yourpets. It makes the banktipping for buffs a bit more of a chore; since Tara can't banktip to get in line, I usually send an email explaining that my tip is covering buffs for both myself and her, then fire off the payment.Once a pet gets buffed though - no storing them, or the buffs poof, just like if you relogged all the way out of game. And you'll have to get your pet buffed on the planet where you'll be hunting, as pets can't stay out of the datapad for shuttle travel. Well, there is a trick to be able to keep them out of the datapad while you shuttle off (even off planet), but you'll still have to come back to get them later on.

master dancer, master rifles, 0044 pistols for defenses. pistoleer and riflemen have Just as many damage types. 87 ranged/ 94 melee defense after all my mods, 50 defense verus kd and dizzy. I know a couple people that come back for revenge after duels they lost to a master dancer. I took a fencer once unamored. Never pvp'ed since im nuetral, but in the friendly duels i have fought, i only remember losing one, buffed armored fencer vs unbuffed unarmored me. I have 15 guns in my inventory, thats the worst thing about it.

I'm myself master dancer and TKM, with good med skills and scout ones (ign Leona). As far as I can see, I still have to find a mob able to kick my bum real bad (unless those with high kinetic resists as there's no point to fight).

NS have became a greater challenge lately due to the return of Force powers, but soloing one isn't a problem at all (and I don't even use high hend armor, if not at all).

Heh, I'm used to hunt by dantooine in solo groups, for money. I always get a laugh when I see one of those combat templates fall, dead, while I still have to be incapped here (and yes, I don't use any armor against those jantas/mook/kunga guys...hey where is the challenge?).

So yes, having dancer and a strong combat profession is possible, and you get the best of both worlds. Take your pick and enjoy.
