I think dancers and entertainers are fantastic for both the healing they provide and the network of people they know. If you need to find something in this game, ask an entertainer. The mind buff is a wonderful thing, and entertainers are always welcome on my hunting trips. On the advanced planets, I would rather see an AFK entertainer than no entertainer at all, and I do tip them for being there. I have a master dancer friend and we always trade buffsto help each other out. Finally, it is always nice just to have a chat with an old friend or someone new about something totally different....

AFK all you want, but be aware I tip live entertainers well. If it's a bunch of bots I just watch and leave. I guess AFK is better than an empty cantina.

Biggest problem with AFK is I come in looking for a buff and everyone is just an automaton. If they want to dance, fine, if they want to dance for 10 minutes and make 2500 for providing me with a master dancer buff, that's their choice too.

As a dancer and a mere part time soldier, I think we on Starsider are incredibly lucky. I've made a good living as a dancer. Most people tip me something and sometimes people tip me ALOT! I've only had one person be really nasty to me and he was easily /ignored. Starsider players ROCK!

You're right Luciee, they do. I really can't complain. Our guild is completely supported by the tips of the soldiers and we are very happy girls. Of course we are all at keyboard...hmmm....

I'm not a soldier I am a master dancer and have been for some time. I really don't care if people are afk or not. I don't get tips either way that often so it doesn't matter. I have always been one to interact with the customers but not on the same level as other dancers. First I am shy, yes I am a shy dancer go figure and second I am married. So the interactions I use with customers are limited. I would have to say I prefer a cantina without AFK dancers but I know there are places like Endor or Dath that could use them because entertainers are hard to find in those places. I don't dance because I need money and I have to go do missions to get the money I need to pay maintenance on various structures I own. In fact I usually only dance and mind buff people in my guild unless I happen to be passing through a city. If I stop and dance at a city cantina I find a quiet little corner back away from the huge crowd in the center and do my thing. Usually people I know or customers that don't want to be in the crush come watch me and I enjoy the interaction I get to have with them away from the hustle and bustle. I personally think we are respected by the players of starsider considering I do not get tells for cyber or asking me if I am a girl in rl anymore. I also do not get people asking me to take it off or dance naked or any other number of thingslike I did get the first few weeks I danced. Once the newness of the game wore off the players have been respectful and the one or two times someone wasn't some soldiers in the cantina made them quickly regret their behavior. Even though I do not prefer attention I willhave to say I enjoy giving a good show when I team up with Silly and or other dancers in a group. When you have a group of synchronized dancers complete with light show it totally rocks the house. So there is my 2 credits. Oh well I talked a whole lot so make that 20 credits
