In answer to the thread, AFKing at Master Level..no I don't think it is silly if you make yourself available at a smaller player city or less populated city on the planet. I do that myself. I do not expect tips, but, I make my healing prowess available to any who may be out hunting on Kettemoor, Talus and find themselves a little banged up. Its the least I can do to give back to the galaxy that has been so wonderful to me.

I just flat avoid cantina's period these days, and choose to haunt my own cantina. For a change of scenery once in awhile I will visit the cantina of a neighboring city, and have been known to do planetary tours of player city cantinas where I spend the evening hopping from one player cantina to the next

Wow, I've never had anyone get upset witih me if I didn't group with them. Of course, like I said, I haven't been to the NPC city cantinas in a while.

Gotta LOL at the comment about having other ents run up and try to take the spots on the stairs, though! That's too funny! Dancing on the steps isn't very pretty! Still, at least you know that they are LIVE when they do that.

Oh, and just a little plug for the first Entertainer Awareness Day event being held on Bria in the Coronnet Theatre this Sunday at 4pm ET. We are asking that as many dance/musician/ent. masters (along withthose with novice musician and dancer) attend as possible to offer training, inspiration and awareness of our profto new ents and non-ents. We are encouraging non-ents to pick up the novice entertainer skill and find out how much fun entertaining can be and what a nice group of LIVE people we are. We are also asking for some tailors to attend and provide clothing for the newer ents, as well as for established ents to donate costumes. Come prepared to have fun and make new friends!

Oh I think that's a great idea!

It might get missed in this thread as just a plugthough, please promote it in a new thread if you have time! My girl is pretty poor on Bria (read low profile ratty dancer ), but I think I'll have to pop in and check this event out!

its only started in the last month and a half really before that the atk dancer would dance out there to avoid all the afkes and catch the people as they come in but alas the afkers decided to do it to now anytime you go to the cantina in coronett you get super evil lag if you forget to use the back door. and for all those afkers who said the atk dancers can just dance elsewhere no no we cant as proven vby this you just follow us.

I get the "super evil lag" regardless of where I enter the big cantinas. I have a relatively new computer with lots of ram, so I have to assume it's my awful connection (26.4-Kbps connection, for reasons I won't go into). I think the visual lag is a ram issue, whereas the lag I'm getting is due to the strain of 60 entertainers all mechanically inputting flourishes precisely every x.x seconds; that's a whole lot of bandwidth being used up. My ping goes from 230ish to well over 5000 with 20% packet loss the moment the door (front or back) opens. I tend to hear cantina chat up to five minutes after I've left, even as far away as 2000m.

I guess I'm lucky I mastered before holocrons hit, because I'd have quit in a heartbeat if it'd been like this when I started. I'm still semi-retired for the usual reasons, but it must be extremely disheartening for new entertainers who don't have access to broadband.

I hate it too.. corontet on flurry is so packed you can't hardly find a spot. the front door is packed with afk'ers.. Frankly I have stopped dancing pretty much at this point, due to the horrible lag in the cantina and the rudeness of customers not wanting to pay for "something we didn't have to work for"

i too am very glad i mastered before all this. the only reason i ever go to coronett cantina is to sell buffs or heal my own bf but now i avoid it completly. i have a relativly new very fast computer and cable internet i useually get no lag. whats worse though is now there a whole new batch of afkers in ah.

Hey Fainora! You and were in AH for a little bittogether one day. Do you have that complete set of clothing you were after?

I only go to Coronet for money now--through IDing and mind buffing. It's not even worth trying to entertain there right now. I've had people not believe I was actually talking to them! I'm really hoping things turn around soon.

Why, thank you! I can't claim the idea, however,as Doasa is the onewho set this whole thing up. He has been very diligent about creating events that place live entertainers in the spotlight and had done a wonderful job of picking up the pieces after Javier left the game.

Also, let me know what your character's name is on Bria - we'd be more than happy to give her a hand! And please come visit us on the Bria ent chat as well - there's almost always someone there to talk to!
