One the many NPC that wander in and out of the cantina stops and watches a random entertainer.

That NPC requests a couple of flos and dances/songs.

If the player satisfies the NPC's requests, then through accident or generosity, the NPC gives the player some useful information and then departs. The player would see in a system message

Please dear gods let them actually ask for the dance/flourish they want to see or my lekku might just fly off my head and strangle a random NPC.

Wouldn't the removal of the passive buff remove buffbots?

From my understanding, buffbots use a macro to get themselves invited into groups and then apply the passive buff to the rest of the group. If the passive buff ability was removed, then it would require buffs to be actively provided.

Downside is that dancers/musicians would no longer be able to do a group buff but when was the last time people grouped together to kill anything. Combat is now solo groups, so let makes the buff solo to match the combat trend.

Just an idea.

There are still enough people that group that this would be a HUGE pain. People group to go to the vette and things such as this - there are PvP groups...

There are also instinces where more than on person comes in for a buff - it is nice that I can buff them at the same time. If passive buffs were removed - it would make entertainer buffs even MORE inconvienient for those gotta have it now types

Please don't bump unless it's for a social event. If a topic is timely for discussion, it will happen.

There is a lot that I liked about this plan and I did quite a few proposals including something like this based on some of the ideas that had been floating around on the Ent boards.... but then TH proposed the patron requesting flos plan, andI had a chance to see what Dancers wouldn't enjoy about something like this. In general, we like to say how we should look and express ourselves with our dancing. In fact, we want a lot more creative control.

"Crafted" unique dance routines that could be stored and able to take modifiers for different bonus levels and types seems to be the more popular idea right now and wouldmostly be at odds withsomething like this. The NPC spy angle still seems to be popular and might be worked in some how to take some of the usefulness from this kind of thing with out actually messing with our dancing, and I think that would actually have a better chance at community acceptance.

Anyway, blah blah, let's take this to the sticky so we will know where to find it and bumps won't be needed.

I like the idea of NPCs asking for dances and flourishes. Perhaps they shower you with stuff? i.e. Money, junk, flowers, toys and the like and not just increases to ent healing. make it more random. it would be another source of income for tip denied entertainers.

and by money I mean 100 and below. come on. we don't want ents to become a crazy money well.
