Ya know what... I am convinced it doesn't matter what they say, though I avoided the flos or dances they didn't like. It seems that variety is the key to completing this. Once I got the hang of it, it went pretty smooth. It was fun getting peope to watch me in the starports. I enjoyed the quest

I had spammed flourishes, brought friends, changed dances, and done a few effects and still failed without knowing anymore than the audience likes flourish x.
Attempt 6:
I changed theatres from Theed to Deeja. I couldn't stand the thought of another failure in Theed. The Deeja audience was MUCH kinder and told me they liked basic and flo 3. I PASSED!
I then went to Coronet to beg for attention in the starport and did my second performanceat the Coronet Theatreand PASSED! I went back to the starport, returned to the theatre, and passed my third performance! The audiences for the second and third performances were very generous with information. In the second performance they wanted basic2, footloose, and flo2 and no popular. In the third performance they asked for rythmic2, flo 1,2,3, and no popular and noflo8.
I did effects, and it might be coincidence, but I swear I couldn't get above neutral in my second performance until I did a special effect. /shrug
Maybe I just had a streak of bad luck that left me very discouraged. These challenges are fun when you're not plagued with failures and a 24 hour wait between attempts. I don't even understand the point of a 24 hour time sink. Because of the 24 hour wait,it would be nice if our missions depended more on skill than on luck, but if we need to depend on luck, couldn't it be less painful?

This quest is a pain. It's not failing that makes it a pain, it's the 24 hours you have to wait when you fail. And the oh-so-helpful audience that tells you, "I just save a bunch of money on my cloning insurance" leads me to believe that talking to them is pointless. Even if they say "I like flourish #" or "I want to see <dance>" they're not happy with those. So I just set up to spam macros that do all the flourishes and changeups to all the dances. Will see how that goes tomorrow I guess since.

The new dance Theatrical is TOTALLY FAB!!!!! OMG it's so wonderful! All the flourishes work...I FINALLY look like a Master Dancer!
It took me 3 days...failed the first audition...the next day - failed a dance cosI ran out of action and the heal took too long...went back buffed thereafter!
GREAT quest and LOADS of fun.
I love the dance!!!

I failed the first audition, started the next day by already having /startdance typed into the spatial box and just added the dance when they told me which one to do.
When I passed it I came back the next day to do the next part. I was told to "Go perform for 10 players and make sure they are satisfied with your performance." IS this PC or NPC players and how do you know if you've passed? How do you know your performance was satisfactory?

PCs. You will get a message that you have entertained so-so and you have to entertain X number of people.

I must say i'm working on musician now and will go up dance after that, and I've failed the musician part of the quest the last 3 tries. And why is that? They have provided me only a flourish. I've had at least 1 person on each attempt polling the audience. So... the "not enough information" problem is not specific to dancers. Thought you might like to know.

A lil tip to pass on ....when you converse with the audience you don't have to hold an actual conversation. Initiate one, move on; intiate the next; read ; rinse repeat. You CAN poll the entire audience by yourself..just keep moving and read the replies as they show up in ya spatial
Best of Luck

*still griping about 13 exp per flourish on the new dance when it cost me 400k exp to learn the silly thing!
