So far I've failed the first performance 5 times and missed a day because of the patch (6 days and counting). I belong to an entertainer's guild and my guildmates are convinced that I'm bugged. 2 of the 5 failureswere clearly my fault because I didn't start on time. 3 of the 5 failures are a mystery.4 times my guildmates helped me read the audience and we discovered that I have never been given afavorite dance by the audience. The audience will onlymention one flourish thatthey want to see.. sometimes more then one audience member will ask for the same flourish. One other guildmate was given only a one flourish hint but she passed. I'm doing everything I've been told to do to try to get through this and I've never been above neutral. I've been randomly choosing dances frommy master's list anddo about 4 danceswithin the 2 minutes given to do the quest. Friends feel so sorry for me they won't tell me when they get their dance so I don't feel badly. Sheesh!
Should I report my character beingbugged like my guildmates want me to do?
Is anyone else having this much difficulty? Even if I pass tomorrow it's going to have taken me 6 tries and that was for the easy performance! At this rate, with one try a day, it could take me amonth to get the dance. Maybe for every day you fail you should be given an additionalaudience hint?
Truthfully, if I didn't need the dancetoparticipate in guild shows, I wouldn't bother trying everyday... it's justnot worth the frustration.

You need to do all your dances, i did my last two easaily when i found this out. Whenever i'd stick to just the liked dances i'd fail, so i made a hotbar with every dance i knew and only paid attention to the disliked and removed those from the hotbar. I did the liked dances first, the flourish 1 2 3 4 + a liked one on tick then 5 6 7 8 + another liked if there was the next, then switched dances, going through each dance as fast as i could. Both times i ended with very satisfied.
Also this is just a theory but i think the first show is actually bugged, a lot of the time you don't get a like or dislike at all and there is one regardless of what the audience says, so you don't know which one it is and it annihilates your rating.

Ah..so talking to the audience is the key? Maybe that's what I was doing wrong, then. I was just about to leave a post asking how to do it. Had better luck last night as I got 'slightly unsatisfied' instead of 'very unstatisfied'. Will try again tomorrow.

Yep, can make a macro with /conv and set it on yer hotbar, standing the stage and quickly target them and conv, you dont need to wait for the bubble but i did have to be looking towards them for it to show in the chat log. I also recomend taking a friend along to help out incase you miss one .

Taking a friend or two along is key -have them group with you and give you the hints in group chat so you can refer back to them easier. Not only can they help you with polling the audience and gentle reminders of what dance/flo to do during the performance, they can give you moral support!

Plus, it's fun!
And for all we know (what with there being no docs or announcement or anything), having some players in the audience /applauding and /cheering might up your score.

I dont know if it actualy helped or not, but three of us stood in the audience and conversed while the 4th dancer did her routine. She was on the last leg of her dancer quest, so there were a LOT of NPC audience members. We split the auidence up andwe each shouted out to her what they wanted and did not want. She and the next two people behind her passed. We cheered too, figured it couldnt hurt.

Yep, like I wrote, I had help from friends who spoke to the audience4 out of the 5 attempts, and each time they told me that the audiencementioned no favorite dance. This was on the first performance, so there aren't too many audience members. That's why I'm asking if I should report this as a characterbug like my friends suggested.
MistyLee,you do ALL your dances in 2 minutes? You spam your dance changesand still have time to spamfourishes? Sorry, I'm confused. Trying to figureout how to get all the dances into 2 minutes and make sure to flourish.
The frustration is taking the fun out of these missions. If I died when I did the theme parks then I could run back and try again until I won (done with a case of spice and a prayer). The 24 hour time sink is far worse than the 400k exp cost.

When I got a performance where they didnt give me a dance, I did exotic4. I spammed the heck out of the one flourish they told me they liked... I mean like 1 a second spam.
When It looked like they weren't liking it very much, I switched to popular2 and spammed the flourish they wanted. It stayed at nuetral a couple of ticks and so I switched to poplock2, again spamming that one flourish.
Finally it went to satisfied.
I didn't even really do any of the other flourishes, just the one they said they liked + effects

It's not just you, on my second performance, the only information I was given was "Don't do flourish 5". On my final performance, all I got was "Do flourish 3, not flourish 4". However, about halfway through that performance, an audience member spawned *behind* a chair. I had a person helping me, so I learned the all-important dance was "Popular2" during my show. So, definitely bring along some form of help. Another trick that worked was change dances (I didn't cycle all of them, just the "good ones", like footloose, popular, and exotic4). One I don't see mentioned though, is to do special effects. I don't know if they help, but it can't hurt. Hmm... oh yeah. I also never waited for the flourish animations to end, I would do a flourish every half second or two. Even though you're still doing the other animation, I think it registers (and seemed to help). When the audience doesn't tell you anything, it is frustrating... But so far, everyone who does well seems to spam special effects and flourishes, and usually has friends in the audience, so try that.

Yeah, I had some difficulties to, found it out on that wednesday, on and a half weeks ago and still don't have it.
But *shrug* I will get it sooner or later, and 'til then I enjoy my favourite dance, lyrical, being greatly improved. I wouldn't call that nightmare.

kinda harsh on the failures. I just tried out an audition and had to do one of my dances and so I was liek oh ok going through my list real quick and went to hti the button for that dance and oh wait a message on the screen already? Failure?! this didnt take but a few seconds to happen. So i go to talk to the manager and I have to wait 24 hours?!!?!?! 24 hours!?!?!!?!?
