I'm a Performer. I'm there to put on a show and entertain the audience and other Performers.

SOE decided to make me a healer as well. I can live with that. It's the support role that I prefer over the active combat one. However, I don't see myself supporting anyone anymore. Our role in the grand scheme of things right now is limited, and shrinking with the popularity of bots and the ill regard most players have for us.

I'm here to make somebody's day better. That's the bottom line. If it's with wound/fatigue healing, a F/W buff, or just a good song and a joke, that's what I'm here for.

Hehe, I've always resisted the impulse to say which of my roles is most important. At some times, I'm purely an entertainer -- at gigs, at Crawls, at starports, on someone's yacht. At other times, I'm a mix of both. I guess if I'm pressed to the wall, I'd say I'm an entertainer first and a healer second, but that implies that our healing abilities are secondary, whereas I see them as central to our being.

Dancer was to be a cover for my true profession as assassin...but it was so much fun, it took over!

I'm an Entertainer first and foremost. Everything else I do, be it healing, buffing, or whatever, revolves around this.

One of my best Songs (I use the word Song to define a flourish macro) doubles as a buff macro and a healing one.

However, if I had to pick two in order, I would have to say 75% Entertainer and 25% combat support. As a Combat-Musician-Entertainer hybrid I see a lot of action, and I'm in a semi-PvP/RP Imperial guild so I get called on a lot for buffs and healing (especially since I make sure no one in the guild sets up a Musician buff bot). Luckily, my guild is a great group of people and like my music as much as I do

To be perfectly frank, I'm just here to party.

Mmmm - that's hard to say, Eshi. I didn't become a dancer to heal. That was a wonderful side benefit because I tend to be a "helper type" in real life anyway. I became a dancer in the game because of my alter ego that wishes I had a smidge less stage fright and a bit more confidence in my ability to sing! LOL! I took to dancing and dancing took to me. I dance because I love the movement, the flow, the asthetics of it. I enjoy the *polite* attention it brings me. I love the gasps and astonishment of patrons who witness sycnronized dancing or a Cantina Crawl for the first time (or both!). I love not having to be uber to be cool. I enjoy being a member of a community of like-minded people who play the game just for the fun of it. No matter what character I create on any server - she always ends up training as an entertainer. I just can't seem to stay away . . . .

This is precisely my problem: I'm a healer, in a far more pleasant and relaxing format than jabbing people in the arm. Since combat support in the form of buffs wasn't ever something we were told about In The Beginning, I didn't see myself as combat support other than healing up afterwards, but I'd like that role...if it wasn't being usurped by NPC emulators.

I enjoy the performing, but it's not my primary focus.

I see Musician as a way to show off my Rodian good looks and pick up chicks. Well, not quite but its kinda close, I'm an entertainer first and foremost. I make people offended, I make them happy, laugh yell at each other you name it. Its all about working your audience, or making fun of them when they come in looking like zombies and refuse to return my greeting. I just happen to heal them while they come in. Since JTL I noticed thatI've been in the cantina a lot more, people have fun stories to tell again and that's great. I missed those all these months since the hologrind started.

As a Musician? Just wanting a brief and informal poll of how we all see ourselves in our profession? Are we healers? Entertainers? Combat Support? How do you view your character as a Musician?

I take my role both lighthearted and at times very serious.I feel that entertainers are more than what this game describes them to be and that we have a connection to the force that is mysterious and somehow unexplainable. I have always felt that besides trying to entertain people, we are healers since we healthe minds and fatigue of our patrons.

I don't really see us as combat support, however I am not against staying behind "the lines" in a secure area to help boost morale, and heal the people of their mind wounds and fatigue.

I see us as Musicians, who have been touched by an undetectable portion of the force that can not be labeled as either light or dark, but it is beneficial to any who use it.

So, the short answer.....Entertaining Healers.

I see myself as an Entertainer who heals. Since beta I have known that my performing was a healing attribute. Everyone needs to relax..and it is my pleasure to perform for them to help take away their shock wounds.

I see myself as equal parts of all three. My guild really utilizes my mind buffing and healing before and after a guild hunt and sometimes we just all hang out in my cantina and chat while I play.

I am also a TKM. *that way if anyone complainsI hit a wrong note I can smoosh them with my bandfil* I still think it is unfair that we cannot mind buff ourselves.

Hmmmm...

I view my character as an "artist that can heal".Through the beauty of the dance comes soothing pleasure for the battle weary and down trodden of the GCW (I buff when called upon, but I don't see that as the defining thingof my little lady).

I honestly just love the way dancing looks sooo much...I think it really highlights how aesthetically pleasing SWG is.
