As a Musician? Just wanting a brief and informal poll of how we all see ourselves in our profession? Are we healers? Entertainers? Combat Support? How do you view your character as a Musician?

Sexy demi-god.

Social Entertainer with a secondary focus on combat support / healing (not preparation).

(By the way, it looks like we have a good year to iron this out now )

As an absolute Star... I hope.

I chose Entertainer as my starting profession not out of a desire to be a nurturer or healer/caretaker... those things to mewere extra. The game mechanics that were tacked on to the experience. I wanted to 'live in the Star Wars universe'... and I had stars in my eyes, wanting to become a famous dancer of the galaxy. I wanted to have fun, and play a game in a way that I hadn't seen offered before. All of it... limousines, autographs, fans that might cheer for me as I passed in the streets... I wanted it all! Weeeeee!

Before i knew what a dancer realywas or how the mechanics of it worked,I randomly picked entertainer after having tried starting as a scout without knowing i needed a combat profession. After having done it for a few hours the idea came into my head, hey maybe if i keep doing this i can become just like a real entertainer and be well known and loved on my server for what i do. And indeed I did get a chance to become well known and apreciated in my home town of mos espa. People started to recognise me and come to me again, which i loved. That interaction of the repeat cutomer. My second day i danced for 12 hours straight at the keys and had a fantastic time, made 30k in tips. I remember thinking wow i must be doing it right, and iremeber feeling like i was realy acomplishing it, becoming like an honest to goodness live act that people came to see.

That is how i saw myself as an entertainer, the healing wasn't something i even gave much thought to. It was just a game mechanic that enabled me to act out this virtual fantasy. Of course you all know how the rest of it turned out, but that was my initial atraction to entertainer. Where i saw it going at the time.

Ohh ... Like others...

I pictured being a Galaxy wide known star. Being asked to play before the Emporer. Helping to spy and an information broker. Being used to smuggle stuff by smugglers. I pictured being able to have a massive full blown musical play with a packed theater... Those thoughts didn't last very long but the hope that things like that might happen one day is what has kept me going... That and all the great people I meet along the way.

Shh, now... smugglers smuggle information too, not just drugs. Well, they would, if they could smuggle yet... here's hoping they get their proper role the same way that we'd like ours.

I think entertainers are artists. I have always seen my entertainer characters as different kinds of artists. Some were spoiled megastars others were bar band/pan handlers. Always though the music or dance was art and I approach it that way. Does the music sound right with such and such flourish, does that outfit look right with this dance... Does the dance match the group's music? This is what an entertainer is to me.

Buffing and Healing is just the lure to get an audience since they didn't think to add in a reward other than that to the non-entertainer player.

I see myself as entertainer and rumor-monger.

To me, healing is a nice side-effect, albeit an important one because it forces players to come to the cantina, thereby making the SWG world feel more like a real place where people take a break and hang out from time to time.

Depends on which of my gals we're talking about.

Kyree (twi'lek) is carrying on her mother's legacy. She is a business woman, running The Dragon and Pawn cantina. She is also a rebel and works from the sidelines to do her part for the Alliance

Ivehi (Bothan) is learning to dance so she can attent social events and gather information.

Alyri (Wookiee) is a healer of body and soul.

Llyna (Ithorian) is a diva-in-training. With the best knees in the galaxy, and her collection of hats, she dreams of being a premiere performer.
