Panthu.
You're done as correspondent when we say you are done. You work for us. Now get your ass back to work and we'll hear no more about this or the spankings will begin.
Dismissed.

In my opinion, if we aren't seeing it enough isn't being done.

*cough* Sweetie, thanks, but that's not needed. /poke D
Anyway... yes Reachwind, it is true that things aren't going to be happening now, but they are at least being planned for and promised at this point. Most of the things I was really worried about for us were "not on the radar" when I came in. In devspeak, that means "yeah it could happen, just like we could put in pink ponies that fly in space one day." Translation = don't hold your breath.
Now I see that these things are coming. Not on the schedule most of us would have chosen, but they are coming.
D is right that I do fight for our community and our role in this game, I almost don't know how not to... but I know that I can be "relentless." Sometimes, when something really needs to be chased down, that's a good and useful thing (where we were) and sometimes it can out live it's usefulness, often after you have made your point and been heard (where we are now).
I take this whole "voice of the community" gig pretty seriously and I take the community itself very seriously. I've passed on everything I heard and they listened... they've just chosen to put us in line rather than bump us up front like we'd like for them to. At least we are in the line now though.
Ravenmist was exactly what we needed as a community voice when he wore this tag, I think maybe I've been what I needed to be for us for my turn as our voice, and I think it's time to start figuring out what our next voice to the Devs will need to sound like to get us through this stage in the game (code name "bake sale"
).
RM left me in great shape when he stepped down. I had a lot of great information to work with to help me figure out how to get our points across to the Devs. Now it's my turn to help us start this next period and get things all set up for the next DC.
We have a strong community and that should be the most important thing to us during this period before the revamp. It's still going to be a hard wait, but we might as well throw some good parties while we're waiting for the Devs to ask us for a dance. We aren't exactly the wallflower type, we need to just get out there and boogy with what we have.

What is all this? Are you trying to say you're planning on stepping down? SHUT UP GIRLFRIEND!!
I must inform you, you are not allowed to step down. Put all thoughts of it out of your mind.

I wasn't going to call attention to this, but since others have noticed...YEAH, WHAT'S UP WITH THIS?
This is actually the 2nd time you have said something like this within 24 hours.

Ok, just one more comment then I will slink away Pan ![]()
90% of the communication, work, and crusading that a correspondent does to "the devs" is never seen by the players base due to a little thing calling NDA

We have nothing. We have a broken game with broken dances. We CSRs telling us we can't interfere with unplayed buff bots when they stand in public cantinas /shouting over our performances and giving our only tradeable skill away for free.
We have developers routinely patching combat and artisan fixes in to correct minor game imbalances but we can't even get a break from customer service staff when we take matters into our own hands becuase the developers are too busy to bother.
It's not ok and it's time you stopped defending it and teling us to dance happily away while we watch fellow players, customer service and developers mistreat us.

Well, I tried to get them to fire my butt, heh, but they aren't falling for it.
I'm not gone yet, I just see the need for the new phase and I'm not the right Dancer for that part. I wanted the Devs to listen to our issues and know what they were, now they do. I wanted us "on the radar", now we are.
I don't know how to be a Corr with a Prof on the radar... I scream and yell about "Dancers demand justice now!!" and other such craziness like "the man can't keep us down!! We won't be ignored!!" I don't know what to do now that they've promised to get to us. That was pretty much my whole point with this thing. O.o
Someone else will be good at this part though.
Now, let's get back to project Bake Sale and stop talking about my boring old Dancer Activist self.

If its any consolation, take heart in knowing that buffbots are far from a panacea to the players. They have their own problems. And the problems buffbots create will only become more apparent the more they are a necessity, and not just a convenience.
Because what incentive does a buffbot owner have to buff anyone outside the immediate buffbot owner and the buffbot owner's friends? None. In fact, the buffbot owner's problem is a lot different than ours. They don't have to worry about getting players to use the buffbot. Their problem is to prevent people from using the buffbot. The only reason this isn't too much of a concern right now is that buffbot owners and players think thatentertainer playersare still an active and numerous community. There is a tendencyfor the playerbase tooverestimate our numbers, and the number of buffbots; and there is a tendency to underestimate the buffbot's importance, because they overestimate ours at this juncture.
Butcertainly we can see what happens on Bria when the famous buffbot Briha takes a hike. Bria shuts down normal operation. Players simply don't know what to do. And even if one of us is there saying "Here! Here! I'm here to help!," it simply never dawns upon them that they even have thepower to ask us for help. That's a frighteningly dangerous condition, and a frighteningly useful tool to the buffbot owner.
If only they knew how very small our numbers are, and how very powerless we are currently to "save the day" if buffbots started to systematically deny players.
I understand this doesn't give us much of any consolation right now. The realities are just going to have to work themselves out. But rest assured thata "buffbot based economy"does not solve player problems. It only creates new ones.

So good to see you post, you've been missed on Bria
But as others, I wonder too what's left that we can do, to get the fixes that we despertly need and missing, hopfully our revamp will come swiftly, and we can finally hopefully celabratea victory, over those who would see to destroy our Entertainer professions.
