When? When will the degredation and feelings of worthlessness be gone from our beloved professions? When oh when will It be our time to shine? I have dropped my hopes of ever getting master dancer....waiting a month for two boxes of healing XP is a loooong time to wait...

It's soo discouraging to see player after player walk right past me and go to an AFK entertainer...I've been in a major depression over this for a while and all I ask is when! When oh Lord is it going to be our time?

I'm writing this now while sitting in the Entertainer Memorial...the feelings run rampant! The Depression, Anger, Sadness, the memories of Happiness and Fun that seldom come anymore...

This is My story! The story of ONE person intent on getting changes brought to my beloved profession...I sound like I'm at my real life job!

Developers...This has been a problem for a long time! Please just tell me when, or tell me you don't know or you don't care! I just want to hear something! SOMETHING! I wade thru all of your posts and it's a shame to see almost nothing from you in any of the Entertainer boards!

Panthu knows my feelings, knows my thoughts, knows my anquish!

If you won't listen to us, listen to the Correspondents!

PLease....this is not a flame, just a question! WHEN?

We understand. I've dropped dancer before myself and am tempted to do so regularily. We'd all love an answer to your question.

I don't know you personally Kandee, but thank you for your post today. *sad sigh*

You summed up rather poignantly what I have been feeling as well lately, debating whether or not to just give up on dancing once and for all.

*comforting hugs*

Thank you again for sharing....good to know I am not the only one with such feelings of anguish/pain overour beloved profession.

In our Revamp, and not before then. I do not yet know dates on our revamp, I think we are still in the second group and they are still planning on doing them in groups. That may mean Spring? I'm not sure, it all depends on how quickly the CU and Prof Revamps ahead of us go.

I think until that time, we are all just going to have to say "la la la, we'll make our own game then!" This is a huge shift in thinking for me. I've always been a fighter, but fighting isn't worth it if all you are really doing is banging your head against a wall.

I have a lot of good information to pass on to the next DC, so I am hopeful it will be useful to our community one day. For now though, I think we are on our own. That's fine. We've always been a creative bunch. I think we just have to toss out what our concept was because it really just doesn't work in the current game and won't anytime in the near future no matter how much we try to defend it.

We need to be thinking bake sales, car washes, and maybe even a few gala fundraisers... not sending in petitions and filling out grant paper work, because it's not going to happen right now. Ok, weird analogy maybe, but I mean we are just going to have to be pro-active about redefining ourselves with the limited resources we have, because we can't make them defend our Concept and Design if they just aren't going to do it.

Sadly, I do think this means giving up the NPC Cantinas and that is a bummer. There isn't anyway we can take those back on our own though so we'll just have to pretend like they aren't there. We need to start some guides on how to level in Dancer with out ever going to an NPC Cantina and how to make credits by doing non-traditional Dancer duties.

We're just going to have to do a Javy and say "I don't care, I'm just going tothrow parties and make my own Dancer game." We need brainstorming. Ineed a little time to think about this, it really is such a huge change in thinking for me. I don't want to seeus continuing to be so upset with no hope of remedy though, so a shift is called for and will have to happen.

I always say, I like happy Dancers, so I'll do whatever it takes to help get us there. If that means being more PTA President than Political Extremist, then that's whatI'll try to work on.

Hang in there, we'll figure it out!

Panthu... Seriously, that's a pile of **** and you know it.

They have made changes to every other profession as it was being exploited in ways it shouldn't be. They are leaving this one as is because the combat people like it this way and it doesn't impede the real player's gaming at all. This is just what it appears to be. The middle finger.

Thanks Panthu,

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm not the most militant anti-afker and most of you don't know me, but I believe most of all that entertaining should be just that... entertaining. (And fun!) At the risk of threadjacking, I'd like to mention a few things...

To enjoy being an entertainer, you HAVE to find ways to make it fun. The best way I've found so far is dancing in groups. I don't mean join a group, get in a corner and dance. I mean use those bandflos, maybe dress alikeand put on a show. The main hurdle in this game is we all have the same skills and we all do the same thing. Anyone of us (bots, spammers, afk'ers, live ents... everyone) can do the exact same thing as everyone else. What makes us special? We as live entertainers can talk to a customer and that's good, but what's to stop them from going to a bot or afk entertainer and getting the exact same performance?

The past few weeks, I've hadmore than oneopportunity to dance in a group... AS A GROUP. I've gotten more tips, more positive comments and more satisfaction each and every time I do it. People running in and out of the cantina for JtL missions (or around town the time we did this in the street) stopped just to see the show.Every time, someone would come to watch the show and give a large tip to be passed out to all of the group. Every time, someone has stopped and said, "WOW, that looks good!" We weren't even greatly choreographed, but the novelty of seeing something new...somehting different... was enough to grab the attention of people passing by. Most of all, it was FUN!

Many of our dances look amazing when done in formation. Exotics are beautiful when performed together, and Footloose is just plain fun. Musicians already know that the music sounds better with a full band, why aren't we dancing together in a troupe for the same effect? I'm pointing fingers at myself as well here. Many of you do choreograph your performances and I greatly respect that, but I see many, many entertainers who do not. My goal for future game play is to take Sultrina's Dance classes and work on my moves. It will be hard work, but someone has to do it.

Sorry if this doesn't belong in this post... let me know and I'll move it.

Yes, I think Entertainers are severly neglected and under appreciated and are dealing with a whole load of crapright now but honestly, this is a game. If you don't enjoy it then stop playing. Noone is out to get you because "combat people like it this way". Some combat players are a-holes just like some ents are too. Most "combat players" just want to get what they need to play just like you. If you can't wait for your re-vamp in a few months then drop the proffesion or quit, but get off panthu'scase because she fights her heart out for you guysevery fricking day even if you don't see it.
