Actually Electro...
I am always there when I dance, stop by Coroney sometime if you want to test that out.

And yes, more AFK dancers since the publish on Scylla, a LOT more

Often I am the only live dancer out of 20 at one time in the C-net cantina now.

I would ignore somebody who thinks throwing half a mil around would get him attention, I meen please, who's going to give 500,000 just to get in the group? What if I had to kick somebody to invite 'em? Am I that desperate for money? Heck no! I would look like some kind of mizer if I reached for that.
Though one time this guy came in and said he'd tip every atk dancer 10k, I was a little skeptical and didn't outright reach for that, but I laughed at his "lol darn I'm out 20k" and was given 10k just for responding. That was kind of cool actually. Nice guy.

Okay going on subject here, my server is Wanderhome, and I generally only play in MO and Coronet cantinas. Afkers? Almost 100%, but that's only because the high number of atk dancers are too greedy to logoff when they're done ATKing. I show my anger at this method, but I keep them off my ignore list because they ARE pretty nice to be around when they're actually there. Hab is a great example, he's ALWASE ALWASE ALWASE in coronet cantina, but you never really know when he's actuallythere... He could be ATK one moment, then stop responding in the middle of a conversation, then be back, but remain quiet... watching us... (eeree music) /mood shifty

well you don't have to accept the money or grant them an invite. But a simple response of "our group is full but so and so might be leaving in 20 minutes" wouldn't be too hard to manage.

I used to travel around to various cantinas trying to convince people it was far more lucrative to be ATK than be AFK and macroing for a tip. I'd start with a simple "hello" in spatial and invariably get no response from any "entertainers" (though occassionally I'd get one from a patron in the bar). Then I'd try sending tells to all of the entertainers. A few times I even sent emails letting them know that the time was now X and if they responded before Y I'd send them a 50K tip. I always went home with a full wallet. /sigh

I haven't seen a live ATK entertainer in an NPC cantina on Scylla in... um... heck if I know, but not for at least two months. Only ATK entertainers I've seen are a few friends, the last remaining few, in a couple player towns. For all practical purposes there are no live entertainers left on Scylla.

Farstar seems to be 50/50 in the major cantinas.

I find it interesting how one sentence can be taken out of the whole and misconstrued.

Roho didn't walk in the room and start throwing money around - I realize you don't know him, but that is not what Roho is about. We both asked at least a dozen times for invititations into the group - who were VERY vocal in spatial and obvious ATK. Not a single one of them acknowledged our existence by being polite enough to even explain that they had a closed group.

Roho didn't really expect to get a response, btw and he certainly didn't expect that someone be kicked by the group to admit him! That idea would never even cross his mind. He was more making a point that they were so caught up in themselves that they were rudely oblivous to anyone else - other entertainers and patrons alike. Funny thing is that they responded to a couple select friends who showed up during the evening.

Wasn't intending to be insulting, just saying how I feal about bribes. Glad it didn't work for him btw, if it had you'd of eather been out half a mil to join a group that would have ignored or kicked you later, ("you" usedas a general term, also known as "party of the 1st part" or "briber")oryou'dback out of your part of the bargin, very very dishonorable. (not assuming you would, it's justthe only other option) Offering that much money just isn't a good idea for anyone to do.

Besides which I never actually assumed anything you just said, just that if he'd of tried throwing money at me (especially if I was already trying to ignore him! (bythis I'm not saying I would, sheesh!)) I'd have ignored him. And then Iexplained why.

Don't be so defencive, good grief, making me feal like I need to watch my back in my posts. We're dancers notpoliticians...

Sigh, thinking about it, if there are less people coming in to the Cantina people who afk grind are going to have even less incentive to be atk if there are no people coming in to chat to.

I did take my Dancer/Musician into Coronet and Theed just after publish 20 on Kettemoor. Only live patron I saw in Cnet was a Jedi who ran through as a shortcut I think, a couple of regular old customersdid go in to Theed though and chatted about the old times with me which was nice. But yes most of the entertainers were afk. Depressing.

Hmmm...what time was that? I hit Kettemoor right after I arrive home from work, dowloaded the patch and I stayed in the Theed Cantina for *hours*. Not only that, some of us were outside the cantina, arranging dances and having a good time with the free movebment needed for the new dance. Maybe it was before or after I was there, because when I was? We were jamming. Sure, there were AFK'ers, but the majority of us were right there. I've got the screens to prove it.

Lately I've gotten a new idea for attracting people, picking up a bit of Merchant on the full dancer character so you can place a Barker Droid at the doors of the cantina when you're there. (maybe making him give off alittle lightshow too)

ProtocolBob: "Currently featuring live dancer Yuria and her group, in a rareATK performance! She wishes to welcome to the Cantina."

Cause they only bark when people walk nearby anyway, it would also double as a little doorbell so you don't have to constantly watch the door, just spatial chat for the protocol droid's little welcoming line. Then you watch radar to see if they come in and /greet appropriately. Hm, I'll have to do this when I get around to making a full dancer on another server

Its kinda sad, i used to be able to go into a cantina and talk hours away.

yesterday i walk into Theed, i ask about. No-one, all afk. Thats not a exaggerating, there was no player other then me who was ATK.

i asked a bit, nothing. Waited 15 mins in-case anyone was in the lil space boys room, no-one.

I left feeling sad that there was no-one to talk to....

You can thank the devs, who have insisted since day 1 that AFKing is a "valid" form of playing their game. They probably also think me taking $2,000 from the bank in Monopoly while my opponent is in the bathroom is a "valid" form of earning money in that game as well....

I've not been dancing for all that long, but on Tarq, I've seen a huge increase in AFK dancers in Theed cantina. There was a sudden influx of Sunrunner refugees who have, I kid you not, been logged in and AFK dancing for at least three days straight. They clog the doors and best spots in the cantina.

My biggest complaint with this is... if you're going to AFK, do it in a house. Do it in an NPC cantina. Hell, do it in the Theed cantina, but do it in the side rooms. It looks awful when people do stop by for buffs and ask "Is anyone ATK?" and the room is full of zombie dancers bumping and grinding with the wall. People get discouraged and leave the cantina because it's hard to see the non-AFK'ers through the clumps of AFK'ers.

I've gotten a lot of recognition just for being ATK in the past few days. I've been in Theed cantina on Tarq for days on end now, grinding dance, and the same people keep seeing me there. I don't need tips, my PA takes good care of me, so I try to redistribute what tips I get to new entertainers. But I'm not finding any that are actually there. I appreciate all the combat profs that stop in the cantina even though they have no BF to heal, just to say "Hey, anyone ATK?" and making a point of watching me because I'm there.
