i agree ingrata, the guys in this game have tighter crotches than the leather outfits in the xmen movie. those looked snug. i'm not suggesting that i want to see floppy male-ness everywhere, but a bit of a buldge would be nice.

SOE FIX THE MON CALAMARI BREAST YOU IDOITS.. THEY HAVE THEM. TRY WATCHING ROTJ SOMETIME BUDDIESSSSss.
If you have the collector's edition of the game, there's a nifty little picture book in it with background on how they created the species and the planets. I believe that it's in there where they specifically discuss this point. Basically it's because the Mon Cal. are based on a fish-like species and fish don't have mammary glands, and therefore no breasts. I would suggest you check there for more info if you have access to it.
Ignorance of the forums.. Everyone thinks the Mon Calamari came from the fish family. Sigh
Well, if Mon Calamari are fish.
Then so are Whales, Squids and Dolphins, Jelly Fish.. and whatever water based lifeform I forgot.
[sigh] Arrogance of the self righteous... Sheesh, all I did was try to point you to a reference that addresses the exact question you asked and explains why the devs made the particular decision they did. I don't claim to be an expert on the Star Wars universe so if you have some other definitive reference that says otherwise then goodie for you, but the devs seem to be under the same misconception as many others of us, and they worked with Lucasfilm on the design.
Now allow me to point out your own ignorance. "Fishlike" does not mean "is a fish". "Fishlike" means "having one or more characteristics in common with a fish". So yes, whales, squids, dolphins, jellyfish and other such species are "fishlike", but that doesn't mean they have to be fish. Jellyfish are cnidaria, squids are mollusks, and whales and dolphins are, of course, mammals, but none are "fish".
So what are Mon Cal.? I don't know enough Star Wars lore to know exactly. If they were a fishlike species based on dolphins or whales, then they would be mammals and perhaps breasts would be appropriate, but the game designers specifically stated that they are not mammals. That leaves fish, mollusks, and a few other terrestrial classes, none of which have mammary glands. Now there is also the possibility they could be based on any alien species you'd care to imagine. It is this last point that is open to anyone's interpretation, and it easily explains why there could be variation in the Mon Cal. physiology from various sources such as the link at the start of this thread, and even the different conceptual drawings in the SWG Collector's Edition book I mentioned before.
What do they really look like? They don't - they're made up. They don't really exist. What could they look like? Unless there's a definitive reference on Mon Cal. physiology out there somewhere (Gray's Anatomy of the Mon Calamari perhaps?), you could make arguments freely either way depending on what you want to base it on and you wouldn't be an "idiot" either way.

Sorry Blamj, I think by "fish" we meant "not mammals." No offense meant to your fishy self!

So if your saying if an alien specis looks at us Humans and goes "Oh look, they have a color variation, they must be fish" thats a flawed agrument.

Nope - that's not even close to what I was saying. Keep trying, though, maybe you'll figure it out. I'll give you a hint: I never said Mon Cal. *were* fish...

Huh? Now you're just making stuff up. I never even mentioned anything about colors, and I never said Mon Cal. were fish. Seriously, Blamj, you're going to have to start paying attention. Discussions can move fast here sometimes, and I don't have time to hand-hold you through every one. Please try harder to show a little effort next time.

Wookies are actually taken from dogs in design (to be exact, base model is Indiana (dog of George Lucas))
