Thread: Why has no one addressed this? (Mind wounds heal in Camp)

I am just speaking from my own experiences. My camps have, at levels Survial I-IV, healed 10 points per stat every 6-7 minutes. Survival XP has always been very easy to earn; just set up a camp whenever you stop. In this way, I have never had to seek out a dancer, or dance myself, unless battle fatigue were involved (and I am not suggesting Battle Fatigue should heal in camps). Mind wounds are typically inconsequential compared to Health and Action wounds, so nerfing automatic mind-wound healing (not Dancer-facilitated healing) would cause these mind wounds to accumulate, and force hunting parties to seek out a dancer, either by coming in to town, or taking a dancer with them.

As it stands now, unless something catastrophic happens, like they get jumped in PvP and lose all of their ham bars, then mind wounds are basically an ignorable phenomenon.

All wounds heal in camp or med center, I believe at a rate of 10 wounds per 10 minutes.

BF automatically heals if you sit in a cantina or a hotel, also. Does this negate the usefulness of being able to heal BF faster?

Healing mind wounds is not a 'small investment of time'. It's not uncommon for a player to have 100+ wounds to mind or its secondaries after a day's play. That's about two hours of healing if you just sit in a camp.

They were suggesting mind wounds.. the black in the bar. Not mind damage (which is the white part of the bar). Personally I think it should be left as is we can always hire out on hunts if people want to heal faster.

Since I'm out in the field often, I'm very familar with the difference between wounds and damage. I also believe the system works fine as is - being a Ranger who can heal Mind wounds and damage has been quite lucrative.

And let's see, when was the last time I saw an Entertainer in the cantina at the Smugglers' outpost on Endor? hmmmm.....

Well that might be because its bloody expensive to get there, and since dancers "have no overhead what do they need money for?"

I was on Endor once in the smuggler's camp. Took me two days to recover the money from the journey doing missions. 8000+ credits

Only one person to heal, I healed him during battle he ignored me and my hello there, need any help? If I knew there would be a hunt sure, people hunting on such places should negotiate with a dancer or musician or both and pay for the journey, give them a fee and have them on hand. I'm sure some entertainers would be delighted for achange of scenery.

Perhaps I can help on this issue since I play two characters, one master scout and the other novice dancer.

Mind wounds are healed quicker by entertaining in the camp. That is important on secondary planets such as Lok or Endor where mind wounds are common place.

I personally feel mind wounds should be healed in the camp for much the same reasons as given above. The other reason is the lack of entertainers on these planets. In the end, there should be a place for the scout/ranger who likes to play his instrument or carry out a war dance (mind buffs/heals to act as morale boosters? heh whatever). Similarly, I'm sure adventurers would have no problem having entertainers on missions who can offer a very efficient service to allow them carry out missions quickly. I do not feel it should be a necessity which by the nature of secondary missions would be the case if they couldn't heal their mind wounds.

BF is a different matter. I see this as implying a pretty shattered adventurer who really should get him/herself back to civilisation as they really aren't getting better as quickly as they should.

Okay I see where everyone is coming from but I personally as a master dancer, active hunter & PvP'er would love , love love to see the ability to heal battle fatigue - maybe not as an novice entertainer skill but perhaps as part of the more advanced set , Master Entertainer, Dancer or Musican.

What do you all think?

High level dancers/musicians deserve the ability to heal BF in camps. Master Dancer/Musician if you must. It's unfair to groups and entertainers alike that there is only one place to heal battle fatigue. Wouldn't it be nice for hunting groups to offer entertainers hunting/travel opportunities?

USO shows don't happen in the cantina, but they certainly heal the battle fatigue of the US troops.

I agree - as a Master Dancer or Master Musician (NOT Master Entertainer) Battle Fatigue should be able to be healed in camps at least (if not everywhere).

I'm tired of cantinas. If you want to stay there, fine, but when I go out with my group, it would be nice if we didn't have to make a cantina run anytime we were in town. There aren't all that many master dancer/musicians, and many people hunt alone, so it's not like cantina business would slack off. Once you attain Master in a profession, you should pretty much be at the top of your game. As it is, there isn't a lot of incentive to reach Master Dancer or Master Musician.

"Ironically, while researching this piece a representative from Sony asked us to keep in mind that many of the players complaining "weren't playing the class right," and that the class was designed as a solo experience. Such a comment is indicative of the original Ultima Online mistake: not realizing that once an MMO is released to the public, it no longer belongs to the developers, it belongs to the people paying $14.99 a month for the service."

Yeah, a master musician or a master dancer in a master ranger camp
