Thread: So why are you all dancers?
Hey everyone!
What a great mix of people we have here, and the variety of reasons behind our choice of profession
Well done guys!! Also, great thread Cheese, that test was great!
As for myself, was categorised as SEK **laughs**
Socializer - 73%
Explorer - 66%
Killer - 43%
It is true - I love to socialise!! I'm a complete chatterbox who always has at least 4 or 5 conversations going on at once **laughs** All the entertainerment professions are fantastic for this, as you are constantly capturing people's attention and making them feel welcome. Dancing is a great way to make friends, and even thoughI've seen some begging for tips, or complaining about the tipping scenario(and rightly so, as there are a few issues there **winks** But save that for another day
the true friends that you do make won't see you go without. For me anyway, dancing is one of those professions that is about the needs of others, and helping people out which is what I do best, whether it be curing mind wounds or being able to give someone the WP for the closest CH trainer, Master Armourer, some resources, etc etc etc **grins** Like I said, you get what you put into it, and the more people you can make appreciate you the more enjoyable the game experience
In addition, I am a retired dancer irl and have just been itching to choreograph a performance!! I am currently working with a small team of dancers and musicians in making this a reality, and if all goes well, would love to share the expereince with everyone here via some type of video media
Exciting stuff!!
Also, I love exploring!! SWG is so rich in the different worlds, the hotspots, locations, and the creatures it would be such a shame to stay cooped up in the cantina forever **laughs** And deep down, I am a bit of a killer **laughs/shrugs** I actually moved to SWG from Daoc with the rest of my guild, and we were all pretty big on PvP **grins**
So there ye have it!! Best of luck out there and keep the party going!!

SEA here...
Having studied music for all but the first few years of my life, yet not being in a situation where I could devote myself to it as I could before growing up & leaving home, I thought I'd go musician. I trained entertainer at creation but after about 10 minutes of Starwars1, I knew I could not possible advance at it without turning my speakers off. I tried dance & loved it. End of story.
Hmm Killer 66%, Explorer 53%, Acheiver 46%, Socializer 33%...
Maybe this is why I am mostly a camp dancer
and probably will never make it to Master Dancer.
Oh well...dancing is fun, so I dance.
I started off as a dancer in Beta because this was my very first experience in an MMORPG, and being an entertainer seemed the safest way to get into the gamestyle and community. And I instantly fell in love with it. I loved meeting so many great people and just having FUN. So I continued on as a dancer into live, too, and am very proudto have earnedmy Master title.
Explorer - 86%
Socializer - 66%
Achiever - 26%
Killer - 20%
But I guess this explains why I've really been enjoying working on CH now, and have basically retired from dancing. ![]()
Great thread, C!
Hmm, it seems I also am a SEAK, which really isn't surprising, I suppose...
Why I became a dancer, let me think... For the most part, I am a social roleplayer and really only enjoy hunting in groups for the fun of it. While I do occasionally hunt by myself to take a break from the cantina, my pistol skills are really so I can participate in group and guild hunts, which are so much fun! But I think the main thing that drew me to dancing as a profession was the fact that it is unique in MUDs and MMOs. Dancers and Musicians are complete non-combat classes! Not to mention that in RL, I am a musical person, so entertaining kind of comes naturally. It's what I do! ![]()
The tally so far out of about 15 people who answered with test results, as I add it:
15 people marked Social as 1st or 2nd.
11 people marked Explorer as 1st or 2nd.
3 people marked Killer as 1st.
Nobody seems to be an Achiever 1st or 2nd.
I might've missed one or two in there.
The most common types seem to be SEx and ESx by far (where x = K or A).
Come on, I know there are more of you out there. Take the test and let us know! :-)
C
18 people have taken the test (as is obviously necessary given the tally I listed above, 15 SE + 3 K = 18).
C
Socializer 100%
Explorer 46%
Achiever & Killer 26 % each
EQmade me sick ofkilling things and taking their treasure. Dancing fit the character concept I had for Star Wars to a "T" and is fun in-game - I get to chat with people, and roleplay.
SEK. Explains why I mastered Entertainer and am going for dancer, and also why I want to keep my maxed Explorer skills and get Pistoleer.......
