Thread: SIT DOWN DAY!

I would not participate in a "sit down" under any conditions. I don't agree with it on principle.

First, it punishes everyone -- generous patrons and cheapskates alike. You get nowhere by punishing the people who have supported you in the past, and are only likely to earn their disfavor.

Second, it is incapable of earning the "respect" that so many dancers sadly seem to feel they need from the element of the game that values only one thing: combat skill. Do you think a sit-down is going to make the combat types who think that skill = killing things suddenly respect the profession? It won't. They will only cry "nerf" -- asking SOE to get rid of the profession or add in NPC healing bots.

Third, it's spiteful. Acting spiteful is a terrible way to try to earn either tips, or respect.

funny!

me and a friend was acualy talking about this back when I was a doc and she was a dancer. we were both getting tired of the way the majority of people were treating us, and talked about how it would be great to start a SWG wide wound heal strike hehe.

anyway if it's a go I'm in

Remember the Lowca Strike?

I was there (on Lowca) andthey all made a bunch of entertainers with Lowca in the names and made entertainers and went to (I think Intrepid?) where I am now as an enteratiner,,, wow... go figure.

Anyway, based on the pictiures and stories, it sounded like a blast. they all danced in their underwear with group flourish and when all the entertainers started to heckle them theydid a crawl to the bank that took forever............

I am all for a strike... but will NOT SIT IN THE CANTINA while people need healing. I just cant do it.

Instead, why don't we all make other characters on a server or the test server, with dancer in the name and protest there.

we could all make marksman and pistol ourselfs. Or just chat if we don't want to upset the test server peps. The are a good group of people and don't deserve the hastle.

Count me in.

This is the MOST pathetic thing I have ever heard. Actually kinda funny in a really sad sad way. Plus, wont ever work. Youll just have TONS of players that will refuse to EVER watch or tip you again. If I was them I know I would. You are a player just like everyone else, quit with the bitching about not enough tips. Someone here who posted I know for a fact is rude and that would explain the lack of tips.

Look at the way you treat the community before you attempt something silly like this.

Oh, another thing. I got Master in a week, and I never went AFK over night. So dont act like you should get something special because you didnt have the time to get it finished quickly. Seen that way too much. You get Master in a week or 2 years, who cares. Doesnt get you anymore points in my book.

This would be a bad idea, and one which would just make everyone think the worst of us. We are already thought of as moaning, complaining, AFK bots, money grabbers and many worse things. If we all went on strike it would make more people want to either get rid of mind and bf healing or get doctors to do it, which would just make us even more usless in the long term. Besides there are always squad leaders around who can do our job (sure they can't take bf away, but they don't need to as it just slows down the rate of healing, and they can heal/distrubute damage instantly).

Ah please lets not fight amongst ourselves. No other profession does why does ours? I have an idea...just to lift our spirits every entertainer on each server meet outside of town and throw a party? Get to know our own better and just have some fun!

I have the right to remain silent...but not the ability
Sashalanda and Myki ingame characters..both just chatter since NGE.Shop location Tatooine Bestine 600m away at -1626 -3068

*chuckle*

Ah, now this is the best cover for a strike, actually.

Let's not raise a big stink about tips and have a strike. It has such a negative perception anyway.

But we can have a block party. Everyone perform out in the town square, whooping it up, and having a good time. If a cantina has no AFKers (unlikely, I know), then people may realize the necessity of tipping performers.

"Hey, can you come to the cantina and dance for me?"
"I'm dancing now. Aren't you enjoying it?"
"No. I really need to be healed. Please come to the cantina."
"Why would I want to dance in that dingy building? Look at the stars! Besides, I hate my job. I don't get paid enough, and the boss doesn't even acknowledge me. I'm much happier out here with the other performers."
"I'll pay you 2000 credits to come to the cantina."
"Well, it's not like I'll normally make that money during my usual shift. Okay."

And people who overhear that may feel the plight. Or not....but it's more positive than a strike, I feel. And everybody loves a party.

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.
Still cares enough to interject an opinion, though.

"Ah please lets not fight amongst ourselves"

But thats the only fun we get to have. We're dancers, most half crazed from hunger (well most toons look like that), with breasts that are going to cause serious low back problems in later life, seeking to be the center of attention, while trying to eek out an existence on very few tips. Don't take away the in fighting or we may start being normal, and liked by all players (and that would be shocking)

Not true. You should have been reading the Medic boards about 2 months ago. Way worse than ours is now.

I lead a partial revolt and started (on Lowca) to get people OUT of the medical centers and into the cantina for their exp. And that was months before I switch servers and became a Dancer.

The medics were way way way more conflicted over the issue of tips then we are.

Again, I think we should all make dancers/musicians on the test server with our galaxy names as part of our name and have our Party there.

We could even dance in the street so as not to upset the dancer on test server.
