Yeah, seems a simple rule of thumb when troubleshooting not to change so many things at once. I mean, then if it doesn't work, it's so much harder to figure out which of the 50 things caused the problem... But I'm very excited about the buffs. I had some happy customers this morning, and I really appreciate your work, Ravenmist, in getting us this information on how to dispense them properly.

oh one other thing, the 125% buff for faction members does not seem to be working. I buffed my husband for over 10 minutes and he only got 100%, we are of the same faction. Everyone I buffed yesterday were of the same faction also and they got only 100%. Am I doing something wrong? or is it just not working?

You (the dancer) need to be overt in order to get the faction bonus. No reward without risk. I'm not sure whether your target must also be overt but I shouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

Oh, and if I'm reading the patch notes correctly then you need to be in a city or a factional HQ that has a recruiter of your alignment in it. That's what the "register" in the patch notes is referring to, not the /registerwithplace command.

I recall hearing a claim that you can never be over +100. This came about because of a discussion claiming that the wookie racial taming bonus is useless when he becomes a Master Creature Handler.

I've never verified that you can never get above +100, but if it's true, it would explain the skill enhancement woes I heard about as well as this faction perk thing.

You could test this by dropping Master and see if you get +100 on your Mind Enhancement then. If so, we found our culprit. And as a performer, you likely have enough apprentice points to be a Master again *grin*

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.
Still cares enough to interject an opinion, though.

Okay, another update here.

You do not need to keep the person targeted, when I said until you target someone else I meant until you do a /setperform on someone else. I hope that makes sense now.

Thanks for the confirmation on how the factional perks work, if anyone has more questions reguarding those please post them so me or someone else can find the answer.

And yes you can buff someonef or 125% of the mind pool Kuildeous, its a faction perk not a Numbers thing in reguard to skill. A master dancer who has a +100 will get a 25% bonus to the power of their buff.

In reguards to the skill enhancers, it is suppose to be possible to go over +100, tho for some things it doesnt make any difference. Our mind buff for example will not do better then 100% reguardless of your skill. Same goes for wookiees CH skill. Other things tho like dance skill are affected by mods over 100.

That is, of course with the exception of the factional bonus. I should of said that. hehe

OK, I am sorry to keep harping on this but I am going to ask the same question here again, because it was sort of answered elsewhere but you seem to have un-answered it here, or at least managed to confuse me.

Point 1 -- No dancer I know of can dance the master-level dances for 5-8 minutes without stopping to rest, unless there is a doctor healing him/her.

Point 2 -- To do the full buff effect you say we HAVE to dance for 5-8 minutes.

Point 3 -- You agreed that we CAN'T do this and yet you say we HAVE to do it. This seems to be a contradiction.

So what is the scoop here? Are you saying that any dancer who doesn't have a medic healing her is going to be unable to do the full buff? Or, can you rest and then resume dancing and the buff is just 8 minutes of total dancing and flourishing, regardless of resting? (e.g. 3 minutes, rest, 3 minutes, rest, 2 minutes, done).

I'd like to have this clarified. If it's "No rest for 8 minutes" then active buffing is usesless for my character at least, since there's no way in hell she can dance exotic 2 for 8 minutes straight of non-stop flourishing.

Ahh.. the joys. Yes indeed the only way to apply this buff as fast as you can at full power is to either.

- Have a doctor or someone with medic skills healing your action.

- Have some sort of buff to keep you from running out.

- or rest after you run out of action, then get up and continue the performance. (yes you can stop, rest and continue without messing things up as long as they don't run off or /stopwatch you.)

Yes I'm aware this sucks badly, I do believe we'll be getting some help here from our dev but probaly not until next update. Not his fault since it wasn't his choice to publish this stuff before it was ready.

You need to be grouped for the passive buff, but not for the active buff.

What Hypatian said is correct, passive buff you must group, active buff no group.

So hopefully this will make things pretty easy to handle for everyone, I'll be intrested to see how its all working out tho.

Kalia.. next time we chat? Are you a certain someone from TC I know? I've been trying to figure out if this you or the Kalya name I see posting too. :eers:: If that is you then hiyas hun! ::hugs::

I just did a test with someone, had him watch for 8 min and then had him give me a tell when it wore off completely, 1hour 15 min later it was gone. probably close to 10-12 min I would say would probably get full charge on it.

My main question in regard to the mind buff is, how do I buff my own mind? Ever since I hit master dancer, I am unable to watch other dancers.

I attempted to /watch self, and /setperformance self, with no mind buff to self.

Anyone figured out how to buff yourself yet ?
