An off the wall combination is Novice Fencer / Master CH / Master Dancer. That's me on Lowca.

I like Fencer because it's graceful, and looks like a nice extention to Dancer. The knockdown and dizzy are pretty effective as well, but you won't get the power to do well in PvP, especially at only Novice.

Master CH is really fun, and help immensely in PvE. I use Fencer to back up my pets in combat. Plus, pets are great when putting on a show and you have no backup dancers

I know. I'd already be a Master Dancer, and I'm going to miss my Clibberswick and Miss KittyFantasico.

Just another MDance/TKM here. With BE enhanced clothing and a few skill tapes my melee de tops out at 103.TKM is really fairly useless at PvPbut I'velost interestin that..other than an occassional duel (which I can win if I hit my accept/kd/head hit macro before they run off )..just a little casual hunting and questing is all I want.

I can solo rancor lairs &most nightsisters(with buffs) with ease &have solo'd allkrayts except ancients(with buffs & armor)but I prefer group hunting where I'm valued for my ability to tank. While I can deal out some major damage, my best contribution to a group comes in my ability to keep a high level monster on me and off of the ranged hunters (I use taunt & intimidate a lot). Most of my hunting time is spentwiping out thekrayt populationwith my rifleman/ranger hunting partner. I've had no problem holding my own when doing geonosian orcorvette (haven't had the time to do DWB). But my favorite hunting iswith food buffs butwithout armor, just roaming the countryside killing everything in my path.

I dropped TK last year after it was nerfed so badly in September and tried a few ranged classes but returned to TK as it is just more fun. BTW, Ireally dislikehunting with people who've never learned to hunt without buffs..they've no clue about spawn behavior or how to use their skillsand have only learned to spam specials. haha..just like I won't dance with people who AFK'd it all..same problem..they've never bothered to learn what they're doing.

Well, no worries here then! Generally I hunt without buffs and armor, which kind of annoys my male friends because I die so much (low levels) and they get worried! I wear armor and get buffed for higher end mobs or if I need to level fast. I do know how to do it without it though.

AFK dancing? Nope. Not me. ATK 100%. Always did before, always will! I have a friend who is glad I'll be going back to dancing because I travel to where ever he is to buff him so he doesn't need to use a buff bot! I still have lots to learn about dancing (never done sync dancing before but my know someone who is already giving me advice and it has been a while since I've danced) but I think there's always things to learn no matter how long you've been doing it for. And I'm always a willing student!

CH would be great to do. I have a CH though and I think he might get a tad annoyed if I didn't need him anymore! lolI'll just pull out my bantha, Sekhmet, for show. People seem to like her.

Dual wield? You're darn right I'm looking forward to that!!! I've been a pistoleer since I started playing pretty much and love pistols. Don't know if I'll keep it but dual weild will be awesome looking!! I don't have a DE-10 though Fencer is getting dual weild too.

All this info is awesome guys!! Thank-you sooo much!! It's a larger response than I was expecting and I really appreciate it! A lot!!

Thanks again!!

I am a Master Dancer/Master Swordsman/Master Entertainer, with novice medic so I can heal myself and others.

Swordsman (Swordswoman?) rocks. You can use a scythe, sword or hack for kinetic damage; but you also get the uber power hammer for blast damage. Pow! With buffs and decent armor there's almost nothing I can't fight and hold my own. I get warcry, intimidate, COB, etc. through the brawler base. PvE is a breeze with this template, and PvP is pretty fun too since I can easily target the mind pool.

I don't know if swords will get a nerf with the combat balance, but it's a good possibility since they definitely want to reduce the importance of the mind pool and attacks that target it. I suspect that most everything is going to get a nerf, actually! I was a master CH once and I may be tempted to go back to it after the combat balance, especially if a.) they nerf swordsman to oblivion and b.) CH is suddenlyviable andon par with other elite combat professions again (a distinct possibility).

Of course being a CH with no combat ability is kind of nerve-wracking and I'd probably have to drop master entertainer in order to at least do some marksman or brawler.

There are a lot of good combinations. You do get a slight combat bonus at master dancer but you might consider dabbling in the dancing so that you can afford more defenses in combat. If you don't want to master dancer you can do knowledge 4/ and tech 4 to have 75% buffs and be able to put on a good show with some decent dances. Bio buffed clothes won't make up the difference in healing modifiers though, so if you are dancing to heal wounds and BF you may want to leave the lights and extra dances out and focus on the healing lines. Either way i'd definitely consider only dabbling in the dance and using your much needed SP for defenses.

I'm personally going for the Commando tree. I've been toying with the debate of going for BH/Master Dancer/Nov. Medic (Because medic skills are ALWAYS handy.) after the announcement of the reshifting of the Scout tree. After discussing it with some friends, the flame DOT is too nice of a perk. With MD / Novice Commando / Nov. Medic, I'm able to get the entire Flamethrower tree, but not Master Commando. My main thing is I don't do much PvP. I'm the kind of person who goes out and finds things and does the missions to make the money. I'm also Imp, and I actually use Stormtroopers / Dark Troopers to tank on bases so I don't take as much damage.

Just my 2 cents...

I'm just dropping Master Commando to go back to dancing. I was a dancer waaaaay back when the game first went live (and in beta, too), and I've decided it's timeto return to my roots. I'm going to try my hand at Master Dancer/Master TK as well. It'll be a nice change since I've never done melee.

I gave up creating Combat + Dancer characters because you'll always find an AFK-entertainer in any cantina within a busy city. Heck, even the dead-city known as Moenia has an occasional AFK-entertainer? That came up to me as a surprise.

The only planet I have trouble finding entertainers is Dathomir. 1 out of 3 times I hunt there, there's no entertainers to heal my mind and bf. Which kinda sucks.

But other than that, anywhere you go, there's at least 1 entertainer to heal you. So why waste skills on such a profession? And even if you are poor, you'll always find a (AFK) over a dancer or musician... always, and never tip those people, they are just leechers that do nothing and give no effort to this game, so why bother giving them money? If the healing XP is not enough for them, then what is?

1. I'm not doing a combat prof+dancer for my own healing after combat. I'm doing it because I enjoy combat and because I like to be able to defend myself and not need help. I was master dancer before for some time and I loved it. I've missed it ever since I dropped it. I finally made the decision to go back to it.

2. When I danced, Dath (at the science OP) was the only place I went to after I mastered. Most of the time I was the only one there. Sometimes there was an afk entertainer (we all know about Waag on Starsider:/) but mostly it was just me and I was never afk unless I had to step away for a couple min. Now though, it's very empty up there so unless it picks up, I'll be finding some other place after I master. Shame though. I really loved it there. I've been invited to dance in Moenia already btw.

3. I agree. Never tip an afker. I never expect tips and I never ask for them either. I make money from buffs and my hunting skills as well, so I don't really need the tips.

So, in a nutshell, I'm going back because I love it. To me, it's not a waste of points. It may be to you and that's fine. I respect that. It's certainly not something everyone should be doing. Just like some people loves carbs but I have no interest in picking up that skill. This gives me something different I can do besides hunt all the time. It's a nice change of pace for me. I personally can not wait to get back to dancing!

I am like someone else i thought fencer and dancing went hand in hand. I usually dance with a rantok sword to keep my balance since im so clumsy, and the floors are just so slick. I thought it would be nice if i could actually use what i was dancing with. Since that time i have found i am actually fairly well balanced in PvE and PvP at the suggestion of my husband i took up some pistol skills and thus have master dancer, master fencer, and 0031 in pistols. And i am pretty hard to hit now, Actually have been getting more involved in duels since so many of my guild are testing themselves and have started to get a reputation for being good. Doctor TKM's give me fits, but i can still defeat them. Did have a PvP experience a few moths ago against a rifleman and he congratulated me on a well fought battle. I think its a pretty good combination.

oh the other reason i picked up fencing was so that i could defend myself from stray hands and cantina bullies. i have had to send a few of them to the hospital, why do they never except a duel from a one of the armored patrons but I slap them for being rude and challenge them and they always immediately accept,me an unarmored unbuffed dancer.

That's one thing about us dancers...well, most of us anyway. That is, we dance because genuinely like doing so. When I first started dancing, which was my first profession (entertainer technically), I did it because I thought it was fun. Back in those noob days of glee, where the galaxy seemed like one amazing discovery after another, more people tended to pick up things that they thought they'd actually enjoy. Instead of now, where it seems most people only take up professions for their benefits. Don't get me wrong, anyone who's read my posts will know that I definitely like benefits. After all, I wish to the force I could buff myself. And, I go around all over these forums complaining about buffbots because I want to actually make a living, heaven forbid. But, ultimately, I do it because I like it. And, for me, that means it's not a worthless profession.

And, believe it or not, that's why I took up the art of Teras Kasi. Even back before the high kinetic resist armor, I had no idea that TK's were uber fighters or that we pretty much rule the world of PvE. Sure, I'm glad we do. But, if that all changed tomorrow, Drygo would still be a Teras Kasi artist, cuz he likes it. It's fun, and that's all there is to it.

I'd love for there to be a world where there really was a true combat balance, and a true use for every single profession, and of course, the end of the hologrind. That's the only time we're ever going to see everyone doing everything because they like doing it. It's a shame that it seems most people do things because it can make them the most powerful, or the richest. I think if everyone actually did something because they enjoyed it this game would be a whole lot better off.

I think perhaps this is one of the reasons entertainers are so at odds with a lot of the other people who play different professions. They simply don't understand that people want to enjoy playing a profession just for the sake of playing a profession, and for the sake of fulfilling a "role" within a diverse universe. If Jedi's didn't exist, and there were one single combat profession, for example, TKM, that really was the most uber-est of them all in both PvE and PvP, I have no doubt that over 50% of the player population would choose that profession. In fact, I think that's why there are so many TKM's, or combat medics, or riflemen, or fencers. I think these four professions are at the top of the ladder right now when it comes to PvP'ing and that's why you see so many of them. Most of these people don't even really care, they don't truly "enjoy" playing their role. They just want to be "the best." I personally don't understand that mentality. But, it's out there. And, that's why people don't understand the way we want to play because they have no concept of actually playing.

Sure, I'm biased. Sure, in another forum there'd be a whole lot of people who would flame me for saying this. But, it's what I believe to be true, and I find it very unfortunate that people can't enjoy just "playing" and being part of an immersive, interdependent universe. After all, why are people playing a game with others if they don't want to be part of that? There are plenty of other single player games out there that provide an environment to be the best by beating the game.

/sigh

/shrug

I dunno. Competition is healthy and fun. But, I find competing while doing things I enjoy to be a much more fulfilling experience.
