I like cuttting Lekku off and eating them. They taste great with Garlic Powder.

It's driving me nuts.
First of all, lekku in and of themselves are kinda weird. I mean, you have these giant tentacle-looking fleshy things coming out of your head where your hair should be. They've got to be heavy and when you run, don't they like...whirl around and smack you in the face all the time? How do you cram those things into a composite helmet? Are the hollow? Do you just jam the helmet down hard and hope the lekku are still attached later on?
But then you go and talk with them! That's just so bizarre. It's like me being able to talk with my elbows. I simply don't understand it. I can pick up some languages, even converse (poorly, but enough to get by) with wookiees, but I'll be damned if I can figure out this lekku wiggling. It's like you all have your own secret club language or something...well, actually that's it precisely. And I know you're talking about me right in front of me and laughing or something. It's so wrong.
Exactly how much control do you have over those things? Most of you just let them hang around, but can you, for example, hold a drink with them? Play piano? Are some lekku more attractive than others? When you go swimming, do they float above your head? What do you do if you accidentally tie them into a knot?
It's all so confusing.

I can only concur that Lekku are something very special and personal to any Twi'lek. And that we are able to communicate by them only shows how well tuned our senses are. But of course this is hard for you lekkuless species to understand...

Oh, and Javier, yes... the knotting can be a problem sometimes while sleeping. Tossing... turning... knotting... it's just something we deal with.

Neevah communicates something to the other Twi'leks in a body language you cannot comprehend.

/lookat Javier; /giggle;
Anyway, it's not the color of the lekku that matters, it's how you use them.
I mean, when I male Twi'lek has his lekku, and he.... oh... *shiver*
.............
Ok, I'm back.
I've had many great... compliments about my ... lekku-style. ![]()

*sigh* Not again. No, they aren't heavy, no my neck doesn't hurt...
(Sorry, couldn't resist, had to keep telling people that at FF. Now that I've seen pictures though, I understand why they kept asking.)
And don't worry too much about what we say. It takes a lot of concentration to say one thing vocally and another with the lekku. It's like patting your head and rubbing your stomach. Or is that rubbing your head and patting your stomach? I usually end up doing both at the same time. There aren't many twi'lek who can do it, and I don't know of any who wouldn't have to concentrate very hard, giving it away.
And.. umm.. they sort of hang out in front of the composite helmets. The bloody armorsmiths can't get it through their head that we need armor for them too.
And of course they don't smack us in the face. Do your arms smack your rear when you run? Didn't think so.
